Re: New addition, '97 850 wagon, base, M56
Great to hear that another manual wagon is being saved! On my 2000 V70, I am able to add heated seats to a car which doesn't have them simply by adding switches and the circuit breakers in the fuse panel. See this thread about adding heated seats , specifically the post linked for the circuit breake...

Boot (trunk) hatch cover stay
Why did Volvo not do this? Something that annoyed me with the 850 was the floor hatch cover in the boot (trunk) area. Why did Volvo not have some method of support to hold it in the open position! The 7 seat cars have a hook that clips onto the back of the rear seat although that wouldn’t work with ...

Re: My experience of swapping a C70 amp in a V70
Nice job. Now repeat for an 855 with 8 speakers, please ;-) The v70 setup only powers 8 speakers (center dash is powered from the radio), so just doing the wiring crossover and it should work. Note that your amp is likely under the radio so there is work running from there to under the seat or wher...

Re: 94 T5 central lock not working
For the V/S/C 70's there is a central locking circuit under the dash. Not sure if it is the same for an 850 as I don't have a car to check. I pulled a couple of those for a 99 S70 and 00 V70 at the junkyard recently. I believe it also works the fuel flap release. I would not discount the drivers' do...

Re: 94 T5 central lock not working
On the V/C/S 70 it is a white box above the (LHS) driver's left foot behind the lower dash panel. In this link on dashboard removal, if you scroll to the last 2 pictures on the first page you can see the box. It is a white/beige color to the left and above the steering column in the last picture. ht...

Re: 94 T5, how does the door handle fit into the door lock mechanism?
I can't offer any hints, but I can confirm it is a PITA to get that all back together. I recently had to remove the handle from my wife's car to retrieve the remnants of the small spring for the key hole "flap" that had lodged itself in the bottom of the tumbler. I spent a good 30 minutes ...

Re: 94 T5, how does the door handle fit into the door lock mechanism?
Have you removed the outside door handle? It should be held in place by a single screw on the rear of the door. I did a 98 V70 door lock recently and don't recall having to take anything off. As I suggested in Clemens other thread on diagnosing the issue, drilling out (V/S 70) or removing the lower ...

Re: Best Place To Break Through The Engine Compartment Firewall
There's also this hole in the fuse box, if they're not occupied by relays like on mine. How you run the wire to the fuse box will be up to you.

Re: 98 V70 can't get door adjusted
* All Volvo hinges seems to be of the same design. Adjustments are made on the hinges and striker only. Make sure the door hinges are not worn and the door has no movement. See the first 3 minutes of this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kfnhy0nCaRA * Make sure the car chassis is on level grou...
