Re: Sales, discounts, and obscure parts direct from Volvo
usparts.volvocars.com is offering (only) 10% off parts and accessories for Independence Day from 7/1/23 through 7/4/23. I really hoped for a bigger discount like last year but hey, we'll take what we can get. FCP is offering 10% off orders of $500 or more, and since their prices are cheaper, they'r...

Re: 850 wagon, how to remove inner trunk panels
The answer is not easy, and expect broken clips, especially around the tailgate area trim. Assuming the 850 is identical in early form as a V70 P80 then this is what I recall. Open the tailgate and remove the LH floor panel. It should have a small pull tab at the rear. If not a screw driver with a f...

850 Bumper and trim restoration
I've been wanting to restore the bumper covers and trim on Sveedy for some time, but have put it off due to not being able to find a good product in, and here's the key, the right color. The bumpers and trim on 850's are a sort of charcoal gray color, not true black, and like most plastic covers, mi...

Re: 850 Bumper and trim restoration
Solution finish only sell in the states, and someone in the UK only sells black through ebay. For a hefty 104 Dollars ... Looking for alternatives. Well Clemens, I stopped by a FedEx store today to ask about shipping to Austria. They asked where exactly, and I just said the middle of the country. C...

Re: Volvo S70 2.5T P0422
Have you checked your ETC (coolant temperature sensor)? This will make the car run really rich if it is not sensing correctly.
The backfire, sounds like an air/vacuum leak somewhere. Smoke testing is the most effective way to find it.

Re: fuel odor - any suspects?
I had the same issue some time ago. Turned out to be the doughnut type of seal between the filler neck and the tank. When filled, the tank would leak a little from that area, and you could see some residue on the bottom of the tank. Dropped the tank, and replaced all of the vent hoses as well as tha...

Re: fuel odor - any suspects?
A little odd that it is while/after driving, usually the issue correlates to when the tank is full. For the full tank issues, perhaps most common cause is at the top of the tank, the fel pump o-ring seal or more likely the vent hoses on top of the tank. In short, Sveedy's good suggestions should get...
