Re: Alternative source wanted for wiring repair p/n 3523813 wire & 9144275 socket

Just thinking out loud...can those be 3D printed? Shouldn't take long to create a 3D model of it. Not sure about what materials to use though. Yes, you can :) The connectors for the door side lights in my V70 suffered from the same issue, the silicone seal just crumbled away: PXL_20240629_142221379...

Re: S70 ran out of oil :(

Higher crank case pressure and thicker oil pushing on old seals. May be ok, but just be cautious! If your PCV system is not clean, and partially blocked, having thicker oil trying to get through a partial blockage could cause a huge rise in pressure in the crankcase. I like the idea of running thick...

Re: S70 ran out of oil :(

Sorry about the s70, sounds like it is toast :( 5W-30 is too thin. the oil won't stay in the cam/valve region long enough. I'm running 10w-60 synthetic and it helps the engine stay calm and quiet. It's also excellent for track day use. I tried 0W-40 synth, 5W-40 semi synth and 10w-40 dino in various...

Re: Supplier for Plastic Interior Trim Parts?

I would argue they are equally crap along with most plastic that is 25+ years old. It all goes brittle and it is russian roulette undoing any trim. Care is your best defense and don't go gorilla on parts. Vparts have some repair mounts for things like the 98- dash undertray screw mount on the driver...

Re: Supplier for Plastic Interior Trim Parts?

…. The main difference to me is the door panels which on 98- P80's were they have the 2 part panels and they used the rubbish environmental glue. Rebuilding them with decent adhesive is not too terrible. Still better than the 850 pad on the door panel that will either split or the trim clip breaks ...

Another way to disconnect fuel lines at fuel pump

I put these under the fittings and pulled up.

They engaged the retainer rings surprisingly well.

Thanks to the other threads on here that showed the construction of the fittings as it's impossible to see under there.

The fittings are like the push-on plastic fittings sold at hardware stores.

Re: Bulb indicator light - why?

I have had troubles with rear lights on my 2001 V70. The bulbs need to be the same brand with similar resistance. The bulb holders can get bent contacts and the light housing itself can get broken plastic tabs that hold the bulb holders. All can lead to intermittent or poor electrical contacts and b...

Re: 99' S70, 5-speed, Immobilizer Problem. End of the road for Matilda?

Interesting. No idea what that black wire is. Could it be that issue has been there for a long time and someone ran a direct feed to the pump from a live source somewhere else in the harness to bypass the immobiliser?

Neil.
