Re: 850 steering rack teardown and rebuild
OK. I referenced a PDF previously, and I can't seem to find it online to link it here. Instead I uploaded it to my site and it can be found HERE It's OLD and I can't find the info on the original person(or web link) who did the work to credit them, but they are apparently out of the UK (RHD rack). I...

Re: Need #9176272 shifter cables, 1998 V70 manual, for senior w/ cancer
Folks: Here're my answers to the various questions y'all have asked both on and off line in the last couple of days. Problem history? I've been driving Scamper since 2013 without any shifting problem. The shift was always what I'd call "stiff" or maybe "tight," but always smooth ...

P80 tailgate removal solo
Couple of notes on getting a tailgate off by yourself. Open and prop, I used my jack IMG_8273.jpeg Left disconnect. Big plug under trim then work plug through the grommet. You have to remove plastic clip and perhaps cut the gasket IMG_8272.jpeg Right disconnect. Another clip, gasket , and pop off th...

Re: V70 1999 I was driving along and the car shuts off. Instruments on the dash went bananas. Now have a p1618 code.
Also check the smaller cable that comes off the positive terminal. This handles everything except the starter if I'm remembering correctly.
Do you have a battery hold down in place? When I didn't, said cable would loosen on the terminal and I'd end up with everything going lights out & dead.

Re: Parts brands - OE Volvo, trusted aftermarket, and bad
I live close to Hamburg, Germany and have never heard of "Hamburg-Technic" before. They seem to be mostly/only sold in the US, so most likely they are not from Germany and it's just marketing :/

Re: A $100 '99 V70 GLT
Made some progress over the last couple of evenings. Valves are now all nice and clean. Looking forward to lapping them. I've got to say that the process has been almost therapeutic.

Re: Car won't start sometimes, then runs fine

Re: A $100 '99 V70 GLT
Decided to tackle the drivers side door issues today. A previous owner had sprung the door so badly that it had scuffed the door trim on the fender, as well as making a hellacious noise when being opened or closed. When I took the door off, I found a gaping hole where half of the door check should b...

Re: 1999 S70 GLT - Suggestions on broken lugnuts
i got it taken care of. I sprayed both with blaster last night and again today. I removed the calliper, bracket and rotor. Unfortunately there was nothing to grab on to, so I went the way of an easy out. When I drilled the first one, the bit caught and ended up screwing the remainign stud out the ba...
