Re: 96 850glt sedan, fm reception intermittent
Here is a picture of my car's antenna booster. Mine had no reception for years. So when the panel was off for tint replacement I jiggled each connector until I found the problem. It is the antenna wire from the radio to the amplifier. I pulled it out and brushed it with a small wire brush and reinst...

Re: What is your key fob attached to?
I only ever carry a house key, so maybe it's not a deal. Found a pic - looks like they came with a tiny D ring attached. IMG_3196.JPG I got my car back from service, so here is a picture of my factory key I left the keychain intact for the service department to put the hat number on. This is how th...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)
So today I did some groceries. While walking to the store I see a lady in a VW Golf IV park next to my car, which I thought to be weird since the whole parkinglot was mostly vacant (for real). Since I have some bad experiences with parkingdamages and people just driving away without a note et ceter...

Re: Non-Volvo car chat megathread
I spotted a VW bus today that appeared to be in good condition. I know there are VW fans on here so I snapped a picture! June

Re: Why does it seem like there are so many blown HG's with S60?
I think that S40 may need some attention to the left tail light and there is also a possible risk of water getting into the cabin. I suggest that interested buyers be sure to have a mop in the car - in case of emergencies. And what is an octopus hose? This is it for my daughter's 2007 C70 2.5T. June

Re: Why is dashboard light bulb linked to my brake pedal?
The clicking is the shift lock mechanism. It's likely just getting tired. The light indicator usually means a bulb is out. So likely the car is telling you a light is out. During my 89 740 ownership I had havoc with a taillight on one side until the taillight circuit board was replaced. June

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)
I usually don't have a problem with people talking in the car, but there are definitely times when passengers really need to shut up while I'm driving. I think the touchscreens and stuff in new cars are a lot worse than handsfree phone as far as distractions go. They just enable these distracted dr...

Re: XC90 (2016 or later) buying advice
I have driven all years of the 2nd generation as service loaners as long as a month at a time. All require premium fuel and are gutless without it as well as chew gas so if you are a 87 only user look on. Premium only is clearly marked on the fuel door. The T5 is only acceptable in FWD. T5 AWD is a ...

Re: XC90 (2016 or later) buying advice
Oh I forgot, I have never seen a two row 17, 18, 19 XC90. I didn't notice a 16 either. Since they come with 3rd row ac it seems like a stretch to imagine Volvo building a 2 row model. After all it is Volvo's flagship model. I have personally looked at build sheets for the 17 through the 19 XC90 as I...

Re: $6500 for repairs??
Considering what that shop cost, I got to ask: Do they serve the customer Gray Poupon? I agree! The OP is paying dealership price without getting the Volvo lifetime warranty on repairs! So I would reconsider using a indy that cost that much, or use the dealer and have the lifetime parts and labor w...
