Re: 96 Volvo 850 Engine rattle - Thoughts to cause?
Have been talking to the owner. I think this is worthy of a 2nd more detailed look , weather supporting I hope! Plan to head down next week wit tools to remove the serp belt as the owner mentioned a noise from last year and was unsure about the serp belt tensioner. Still think this is not the issue,...

Re: Basic testing of sub-frame bushings? ('04 XC70)
Throw in a couple of o-rings 8638585. They are intended for early years S80, which had a clunk in subframe, but I bet occasional clunks in my V70 was the same problem. I've added these o-rings and the clunk never returned. Also put these o-rings in my XC70, just in case. And, yeah, it has a new subf...

Re: Basic testing of sub-frame bushings? ('04 XC70)
Question - Is wiggling the subframe around changing the alignment? Or when you do them one at a time it doesn’t move? With only one rear bolt loose, the subframe shouldn't move much. Because of the alignment pin on the driver side (can see it in picture above), the subframe needs to lower quite a b...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
RE: R's I'm going to ask an impertinent question and risk the Fury of the Faithful, but tell me what really is the difference between a T-5 and an Rrrrr. Is it +30 hp, cooler wheels and lower profile Michelin Sports? Nicer seats? Everyone seems to be having trouble keeping them up, or keeping them ...

Re: Volvo EV Rumors (EX30)
A lease may be the smart way to own an EV. US credits are better for a lease on many EVs because purchase credits have more restrictions on location of manufacture of car and battery.
Also, a lease avoids worry about battery replacement cost and value of the vehicle in few years.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Just an FYI - When we join new foundations and footings to an existing building, my engineers call for drilling into the existing, and inserting a 2' chunk of 1/2" / #4 rebar with epoxy into the hole every couple of feet. Those bar ends get poured in to the new concrete and bond the whole thin...
