Re: 1995 850 AC system is empty in a day

They make a sniffer that you can buy that sniffs halides and hydrocarbons that will allow you to sniff for a refrigerant leak. They are VERY sensitive and can be triggered by as little as an exhaust leak. I think I got one from China for like $40.

Re: 97' S70 Random Stalling

Sounds like it's time to replace the ignition switch for starters. I'd also replace the fuel pump relay as it could have microscopic cracks that act up when warm. Have your electrician be sure to test the resistors and diodes right near that capacitor. Also have him perform a "shake and bake&qu...

Re: 97' S70 Random Stalling

Shake and bake test is used by airline and locomotive industries. They literally heat and shake the part to particular specifications for a specific duration. For companies that didn't do this and caused deaths see WABTECH of Plattsburg, NY. They sent bad parts after their production manager went ou...

Re: 1996 850R leaks, burns and smells of oil

Also check the air filter, in the turbos if you end up with enough blockage/obstruction in the air filter it will suck oil through the turbo's seal.

Re: Links for parts?

Just make sure they do not use any hoses supplied by a company called 'URO'. They will disintegrate quickly. Their parts are worse than the cheap ones you get at the autoparts store under "economy" pricing in my opinion. OEM or better on anything you can. You'll spend a bit more upfront, ...

Re: Dropping the Fuel Tank What Hoses/Gaskets To Change?

Replace as many of those lines as you can while you're in there. I think @Abscate has some pictures of one of the tanks recently that he dropped. Check your fuel filler neck clamp about half way down it (can't remember if yours has this) the clamp rusts away over time and gives you large PCV leaks d...

Re: 850 The pin that attaches the disc to the hub is broken

Check your front struts and the rotors for warpage. Could just be warped rotors which will give you a surging feeling, or the front end of the car is taking a dive due to bad struts/springs.

Did you bleed the air out of the brakes while/after doing your work?

Re: Trans getting stuck in limp mode, p1618

May be useful to hit that car with VIDA to get the additional info as to how many times it has happened and the actual details as the car sees it.
