Re: Mis-aligned Steering Wheel

... 4. I made sure that I counted the number of turns each outer tie rod needed to be turned when it was placed back onto the new rack. ... This doesn't work if the replacement parts happen to have different dimensions than what was in there. Sounds like that is the case. It needs to get aligned an...

Re: Mis-aligned Steering Wheel

Rear shocks don't change alignment, but age takes it's tole on joints, but as far as the rear that shouldn't change, but a good alignment shop should check the whole package. It costs less than what it costs to replace a tire, so worth spending the money.

Re: 1998 V70 Remote Start AFTERMARKET

My '96 850 came with a Code-Alarm (aquired by Audiovox (now Voxx)) remote start system already installed. I don't have anything to compare it to, because it's the only one I've ever had. Things I like about it: - it was already installed! - starts the car from inside the house and thru 2 walls (mayb...

Re: 1998 V70 Remote Start AFTERMARKET

As somebody whod prefer not to install a remote start myself bigger issue than brand/type is the shop installing it IMO. If you ever run into problems no shop usually wants to deal with these systems unless they did the install originally. Of course if you’re handy enough to install and fix them tha...

I'd vote for getting a good size 4 way lug wrench. Force of your body to loosen stubborn lugs, and the quick spins to get them out and back in quickly. Less time someone's knelt down, vulnerable, on the shoulder of a road the better. The other thing is if Tire places or shops are hammering your lugs...

Re: 1996 850 Wagon Service Light On

Duration calculator says we've had this car for 3 years, 8 months, and based on our start mileage estimate 83,725 miles. Yes, this is the wagon that was hit. I bought 2 used doors for very cheap that are in my garage. My son doesn't care about the looks, is super busy with work and school, so is dri...

Re: Air only blows on windshield and dash vents

The base model US as two options for Climate control Manual Climate Control (MCC) Electronic Climate Control (ECC) ECC is often loosely used to describe the controller unit in the dash of the electronic system too If you have MCC you just have red blue stripes for temperature select indication. With...

Re: Air only blows on windshield and dash vents

Ah, MCC it is I link you to the disassembly thread shortly Ding! https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=89316&p=504757#p504757 I believe MCC temperature operation is cable/manual controlled while air flow selection is electronically actuated, so you might be into new te...
