Re: Gearbox lower torque rod
I know after putting the polys on the upper engine torque rod, I regretted it and swapped back to the oem. Did notice a slight difference in shifting and engine response. It may not be as noticeable on the lower eng/ trans torque rod though. All depends on how you like your ride.

Re: HOW to replace an 850 Cooling Fan?
I don't think you'll have to take out the bottom two torq screws, just loosen them . The fan schroud is notched for these as locators. The top two will have to come out, if I remember correctly and they are pretty long 1" self tapping type. Try not to break the dipstick handle. Good luck

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Did a headlight restoration on my '06 V70. White compound, 400/600/2000 sandpaper, water spray bottle, carnuba wax, 3hrs., and a lot of elbow grease and they almost look new.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Iinstalled new ball joints in steering knuckles on my '06 V70. Used 2" by 4" galvanized pipe with cap, worked perfect. About half dozen shots with a 5 lb. hammer and they were home.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
I used 1/4" x 10" brass drift pin, using a carpenters hammer and alternating shots on each side. One small pocket on each side is about the only place there is to punch at. If you make some king of holding jig for a vise it would probably only take a couple of shots on each side, I didn't ...

Re: Front Strut replacement recommendations and gotchas?
I would also add no matter what strut route you take, wrap the outer cv axle boot in cardboard during installation, it can get torn very easily. Good Luck.

Re: "Replacement" Brand V70 Thermostat Assy for $20?
I believe most people here would probably recommend genuine Volvo on this part because of the sensor, but I have had the Facet thermostat assembly (around $80) from FCP in my V70 for about 8 mos. now with no problem, don't think I'd trust this part for $20.Good Luck
