Re: Alternator pulley—thoughts on solid?

I'm thinking I'll plan to get to it sometime over the next few weeks and install the OAD pulley on a weekend when I have a couple hours since I have an OAD sitting here, but won't rush as if it's life-or-death as the car doesn't particularly seem to mind. Impact tools are NOT recommended for pulley...

Diary of a Rear Main Seal replacement (05 XC70)

January: I started to notice oil stains in the driveway below the engine of our 2005 XC70. I bought this one-owner car used two years ago, with 100K miles. The whole car is fairly immaculate. So far it has been a good replacement for our old 240. I took off the belly pan and decided, by reading the ...

Re: RobertDIY - A Radiator removal and replacement WARNING

Thanks for the support and comments. Although I don't watch a lot of other instructional videos, I can say this about my videos... 1. I try to produce my instructional videos so that a 14 year old person can complete the task. 2. Best effort to do it safe for the DIY person. I don't like getting hur...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

After almost a year of general and much needed maintenance, I finally did something cosmetic. I picked up a set of toasty Echo rims at a pick a part a few weeks ago and refinished them. I got my Michelin’s mounted on them last night. I’m going to scuff them after they cure and hit them with a couple...

https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/v70-r ... uid-flush/

This is a video of Dave the Tech at Volvo Specialists flushing the transmission fluid on my 2004 V70 R when it had 90k miles. Remember to read up on drain/fill vs. flush.

Finally... P80 AWD Delta Link Rear Suspension Swap

After months of contemplation, I finally swapped out my 2000 V70R’s AWD multilink rear suspension for the FWD delta link rear suspension. It has been done before, but no information was floating around in the many Volvo forums. So, I figured I’d make a writeup on what’s needed to complete this swap....

Re: Brake Caliper Rebuild?

Remanufactured calipers can be had for a reasonable price.
There is a lot of junk out there. Remember, the cores will all say Volvo on them, but they arent the same as OE Volvo.

The rebuilds almost universally use pot metal for pistons, slides. My record was 18 months for a rebuilt to freeze up

Re: Brake Caliper Rebuild?

* Thought one rear caliper on the 03 Odyssey was binding as it went through a second set of pads (metal to metal) in a matter what seemed like 1.5 years. Prior to that it went for maybe 5 years on pads that came with the van and lasted around 70K plus miles. I don't keep records of repairs anymore a...

Re: Brake Caliper Rebuild?

I would prefer to rebuild the callipers only if you can procure OEM Volvo brand parts, second choice would be to get a good used one from the auto wreckers, third choice would be to purchase new Volvo ones (expensive but worth it), and as a last resort option, get rebuilt ones with the expectation t...

Re: Brake Caliper Rebuild?

I rebuilt the calipers in my 1998 V70 (P80 car) some 10 yrs ago, info in forum on how to rebuild. I used ATE seal and boot. The problem is I can't find ATE rebuild kit for P2 cars (S60, V70 etc.). However, if you search ebay UK website, you will see some rebuild kits by "BiggRed" brand... ...
