Re: Brake Caliper Rebuild?
I've rebuilt calipers plenty of times but when I got my P2 four years ago I decided to throw on new ATE calipers. The OEs where badly rusted. The ATEs are made for 18" wheels and have wider pistons. Brackets where included on all 4. I ordered them thru Advance Auto and got the fronts for only $...

Re: Is the 850 becoming a classic?
Yes, it's becoming a classic. When will prices go way up? When the people with high nostalgia for 850s hit 45-65 age. So if you were say 15 in 2000 and your family had an 855, you might want to get one for nostalgia reasons at age 45-65, when you have the most discretionary money to buy and keep suc...

Re: 2003 Volvo XC70 PS Inner CV joint leak
Bumping an old thread so others can read...
If your factory axles Tripod and Outer CV Boots are not damaged yet, reboot them (using only GKN rubber boots) bc factory axle is the best.
Aftermarket axles are a gamble...

V/S70 - Why you clean the cabin sensor
I have mentioned that the cabin sensor should be cleaned from time-to-time. Some may wonder why I harp on about it and here is a good example of one that has probably never been cleaned in the cars' life until it ended up in the junkyard at 190,000 miles or so: PXL_20211013_222032476.jpg You can see...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
I use Mother's Back to Black on the plastic. Back to Black is a wax. It just plays with the optics, wears off and goes back to gray. Forever Black is a plastic dye it restores the lost pigments and will last as long as the original dye. Note: Working with Forever Black is like working with Latex Pa...

New Englanders need anything between here and NC?
Does anyone in New England need anything from junkyards between here and western NC? I'm going on a road trip there in a few days, returning mid month. I'll be driving 81 through Harrisburg, PA to avoid the tolls in DE, MD, DC area. Perhaps there are body panels which match your color or interior pa...

Rear struts and spring replacement with photos
I picked up some OEM struts for $100 for all four, someone had bought them for his 4C car and had them on for a week and decided to get the correct ones, I then purchased new Lesjofors standard springs for the front and rear and installed them today. There seemed to be a bit of difficulty from some ...

Prop Shaft Removal & CV Joint Replacement Writeup - 2006 S60 AWD
Hi all, Recently while replacing my angle gear collar sleeve, I damaged the front propshaft CV joint (probably by bending/hammering on it to separate it from the angle gear output flange). Not knowing at the time how bad it was, I freed it up, put some fresh grease in it, and reassembled everything....

Re: Rebuilding and painting my calipers
I got to install three Centric calipers on Geronimo . Their rust protection is vastly worse than the Volvo rebuilds. I'm guessing they are painted based on a few spots which looked like light application over rusty metal. At first, this looks better than the Volvo rebuilds which are powder and clear...
