Re: Shift Flare on a 2004 S60
My 2007 XC70 was lagging between 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th when I purchased it with 121k miles last May. I first drained out 3.5 quarts on ramps. I noticed a slight improvement but not a fix. 100 miles later I did a complete flush with the trans cooler return line with 12 quarts. My AT doesn't have ...

Re: Considering purchase 2006 V70
A new thread was just started today regarding the ATFs

From my personal experience I wouldn't use the Mobil 3309.

Re: 2001 V70XC - Chasing fluid at the bottom of the turbo
If you haven't replaced the injectors O-rings then be very careful removing the old ones. The pintle caps are very brittle on these old injectors. One pintle cap partially broke off. It still surrounds the injector cap 100% so it should hold the new O-ring in place until I get this injector repair ...

Re: Change Automatic Tranny Fluid Ya or Nah
When I got my 2007 XC70 with 121k miles last May I immediately did an ATF sump drain and added in 3.65 quarts of Mobil 3309. During the next oil change 3 months later I did another ATF sump drain followed with a return line drain. With the return line disconnected from RAD I'd start her up and shift...

Re: 2007 XC70 ECM121B code when below freezing, 30711554
The nice part of the P2 ETB or ETA is the lack of software intervention via VIDA - so no dealer tax to get the new one done. A $300 part does hurt, but its nice when you nail it and know thats the last time you will see that one. It costs ~$500 in parts total and a good amount of time but it was wo...

Re: 2002 volvo v70 turbo boos pressure sensor
This is the MAP/ Boost sensor. http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee376/jwholley68/MAP%20sensor_zps8mrlpsov.jpg As mentioned when facing the bumper it's mounted on the bottom right side of the interooler. It's mounted onto the inercooler with a tiny plastic torx screw. List all the codes then repor...

Re: Front & Rear Bevel Gear Fluid Replacement
The rear bevel gear drain plug is harder to reach. The drain plug faces the rear of vehicle. Here's a photo of an extended swivel wrench attached to the 13mm drain plug. http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee376/jwholley68/20190220_162752_zpspeooxgfm.jpg?t=1550619896 This is the rear drain plug afte...

Re: check engine light and throttle body
The part number is 30711553. But will it solve the check engine problem I am having ? Running out of avenues and time to fix it, also my temp inspection sticker expired. Won't know until you give it a cleaning. My faulty ETM was throwing the P0101 alone. The ECM wasn't pointing at the ETM soley but...

Re: 2002 V70 X/C rear differential oil
I couldn't find a thread discussing the rear final drive gear drain plug so I started this thread last week:

It faces the rear of the wagon. You'll need an extension and wobble joint attached to a 13mm socket.

Re: P2111 After O2 Sensor Replacement
follow-up to my follow-up: The butterfly valve appears ever-so-slightly open. Is this supposed to close down completely? It stays slightly open for air while idling. There is no idle air control valve on theses 2.5L engines. Had the same question myself when I first dropped the ETM. I installed a n...
