Re: warm AC. pay for diagnostics or just replace compressor
I'm a little late to the party, but there's a thread over at Swedespeed about the valve and the miraculous fix. There's a valve available on eBay (bought one, $40) that has fixed the performance issue for a few XC90 folks. https://www.swedespeed.com/threads/ac-issue-how-cold-is-cold-ac-in-volvos.643...

Re: 08 3.2 FWD driveshafts: can I replace just the CV joint?
I replaced my front (FWD) axles pre-emptively at 90K with a DSS right and a Cardone left. Put about 20k on them and all is well.

Re: 2004 XC90 lag + lurching during highway acceleration
A proper VIDA scan might be the best way to find the issue. My wife's '13 S60 had similar symptoms, and no DIM faults noted. I ran VIDA on it and the DTC code was for the fuel pressure sensor. Changed that out and it was healed. I know it's a different engine, YM, and later tech, but the point is th...

Re: 08 3.2 FWD driveshaft 172k mi: replace transmission seals too?
I hauled out the original take-off
The HF caliper says 43mm.
The older one may fit in the gearbox, but the outer carrier bearing won't fit in the clamp.
I bought a DSS 7843XB, and it's a great copy. 20k miles and counting,

Re: 08 XC90 3.2 Passenger Side Axle Shaft Installation
Here's the page from VIDA that lists the torques for the axle group, I didn't find the torque for the bearing cap 2 screws that contain the bearing. If the parts are clean and well mated, the torque by bolt size will have to do. I put a drop of blue loctite on mine. 20k miles and holding. axle-t6orq...

Re: left driveshaft install trouble: 08 3.2 FWD
I had a similar experience trying to get it back in past the circlip. What made it happen was just some wheel bearing grease massaged into the ring and land, and a light coating on the splines.. No gobs of excess required.

Re: 2010 xc90 AC engine noise 165K
"would someone who has a pre 2011 xc90 3.2 try that and report back if your ac pulley free wheels when spun backwards?"
I have a 2009 3.2, the belt as it rounds the AC compressor can be pushed towards the front of the car in freewheel.

Re: Starter Motor 2009 XC90
Be sure to disconnect the battery prior to working on the starter positive cable. Also inspect the starter cable terminal end to be sure the insulation is intact and cannot come into contact with the solenoid case where the cable and terminal bend around it. There should be a rubber boot that will c...

Re: 2006 XC90 BCM Diagnostic Codes
I had a fault with the motor on my '09 BCM that caused an anti-skid message. VIDA read it as a "vacuum motor" fault. After a lot of research, I found a thread in here about the brushes in the BCM motor. I only had around 90k miles on it, at the time. I harvested a motor that looked similar...

Re: Water in sunshade
There are different size batteries that fit in the tray and under the cover without modification. The smaller stock battery is terrible for even using the radio in ACC position. Get the largest AGM battery that fits. On my '09 XC90 it's H7, on my'14 XC90 it's H8. I've read that Walmart does a straig...
