Re: ECC fan speed control
Just an update. I replaced the battery as it was very weak. The ECC hasn't acted up since... cannot explain this, but can certainly live with it

Ah yes, the usual suspect! Will dojblackburn wrote:Yeah, mine did this. That thing has a mind of its own sometimes.
Try blowing out the temp sensor next to the defroster switch with a can of compressed air.
Thanks for your input

Re: 850 climate control problems
If your CEL is on, I would start by having the codes read. Even if it has nothing to do with your current a/c problem, it could be something important. Further, new codes related to your a/c problem could have been added and reading them will lead you in the direction of the root cause. I don't thin...

Re: New to me 98 v70r
The abs issue is a common problem with many good posts with write-ups for fixing. I had the same symptoms as you and solved it by re-soldering the abs module (my issue was dry joints where the diver side rear sensor connects to the pcb) By far the most difficult part of this fix is to take the modul...

ECC fan speed control
Dear all, The ecc fan in my '98 V70 behaves somewhat strangely these days. I always drive with the fan in "auto". Sometimes (every other or third drive) the fan will intermittently go to max speed for a second or two - much like when the temp setting is changed - except I do not change the...

Re: '98 V70 - unstable blower speed
OK. In my humble newbie opinion it is not meant/made to be taken apart. I guess I am on the lookout for a new blower...Ozark Lee wrote:That is not an OEM Bosch blower so I sent you down the wrong path. On the Delco blower motor I have no idea.

Re: '98 V70 - unstable blower speed
Oh, btw, is the recirc damper supposed to move to recirc mode in one smooth movement and to fresh air mode in steps? This is an interesting question as I was having some trouble with my damper as well. Upon closing it would thump a couple of times, almost as if it was stuck and then broke itself fr...

Re: '98 V70 - unstable blower speed
Once you get the blower assembly out it is fairly obvious how it comes apart. ...Lee Thanks Lee (also for the writeup - there was some interesting additional info in that thread), I am sad to admit that "fairly obvious" isn't sufficient for a newbie like myself :( I have the blower assemb...

'98 V70 - unstable blower speed
Hi all, Lately the a/c blower in my '98 V70 (2.5 n/a, 210k km, EU model, ECC) seems to be having its own life (or at least opinion on speed) and not paying much attention to either manual or auto setting of blower speed. I usually drive with blower speed and vent set in auto and it used to work nice...
