Re: 2002 s60 Timing Belt, Water Pump replacement. Tools+Advice?

First off I'll just say that this Job isnt for a person who only knows how to change spark plugs or Oil. If you dont do it correctly. It will only be a regret at the ebd end of the day. So if you are one of those people. Go to plan B. Most of Us cant afford to mess up our ride. So sometimes it makes...

Re: 2002 s60 turbo replacement

A Bad PVC will smoke and leak under the engine. It will also cause the turbo to leak at times. Labor alone is almost 8 hrs to get to the problem, clean it out and put back to together. After you replace gaskets, dropped and lost nuts and bolts. The exhaust manifold has to come off, along with a bunc...

Re: Just bought my first Volvo!

I'm going to assume that your 03 is a XC wagon. Not a XC60. They weren't introduced until late 2010. If its in fact a 03 XC wagon. Your 400 should be spent checking or replacing things that need to be fixed or replaced at that year and mileage. Like timing belt, front end parts, clogged PCV system,t...

Re: 2002 s60 turbo replacement

Oh and if you findout it is a PVC issue. That alone is a 700 dollar fix. There could be a slite chance the rear main seal is bad to. Add another 600 dollar fix. Good luck..

Re: 2002 s60 turbo replacement

A friend of mine replaced a perfectly good turbo because his mechanic said it was bad. It ended up being the PCV clogged. So trust me. Do your homework before replacing a part that is perfectly fine. Part of the smoking issue your having is not the turbo. If you have driven your car enough. You can ...

Re: Just Bought My first Volvo for 600 bucks!

The Winter package from what I can tell. Comes with the W button near the shifter with a "W" that I believe makes the awd into fulltime AWD. Plus you get heated seats, side mirrors etc. It does have the Heated 3rd seat. There isnt much more that this care doesn't have. I had the opportunity...

Re: Just Bought My first Volvo for 600 bucks!

Ive been told and I've noticed online. That I could easily get at least 2500 for My Gem here in CT all day long. But I could never replace this car for 600. Regardless.. Its already been excepted as part of the family. My 14 yr old daughter loves her privacy in the 3rd seat.. 😊 😊

Re: Just Bought My first Volvo for 600 bucks!

I'll trt and answer everyone's questions at once. No it wasn't a family or friend purchase. I found the car on an app called Offer Up. I sold new Volvo's back ib 2010. So I'm aware of their problems and reliability. Plus I'm the outdoor type. So a wagon works for my Lifestyle. I actually bought it f...
