Re: '07 XC90 3.2 Radiator Replacement Questions
I did EXACTLY the same thing on the passenger side cable run when I was replacing a noisy engine cooling fan in the Ocean Race (V8) a couple months ago. Crawled up under with a long screwdriver to get the latch to release, took the fan back out, re-routed the cable, put the fan back in. Half hour o...

Re: '07 XC90 3.2 Radiator Replacement Questions
-Good opportunity to access/replace the front vacuum engine mount and in my case repair a leak in the windshield washer reservoir. -My alternator and all coolant hoses shat out around 150k miles/15 years. In retrospect, I should have replaced lower hoses 30774512, 30774513, 30774514 and alternator ...

Re: '07 XC90 3.2 Radiator Replacement Questions
One more bit of wisdom: Pay special attention to the drivers-> passenger hood release cable routing. I pushed out the 2 plastic fixing tabs during the radiator swap (pretty sure this wasn't necessary) and managed to break my hood release functionality in the process. I fixed it by (re)straightening ...

Re: '07 XC90 3.2 Radiator Replacement Questions
I completed the radiator and lower hose replacements. Tedious and time consuming, but not particularly difficult. Following up with some answers to my questions for the cause. -6" steel ramps provided plenty of height to get the radiator in and out from below. -Good opportunity to access/replac...

'07 XC90 3.2 Radiator Replacement Questions
Hi gang Im fixing to (finally) replace the leaky radiator and some associated lower hoses on my 2007 3.2L. Got the parts and have some general questions before I open this wormcan.... -I have found some okay tutorials and videos on the subject but they're for diesel or turbo variants, not the 3.2 wh...

Thanks again everyone. Doh! I just recently had the intake off to replace the alternator.
#39 hose OEM Volvo is $100+, 3rd party euro is $30 and Chinese ebay special is $17. Quite the spread for a rubber tube with a plastic bit!

What the heck is this hose?!
The other day I noticed my coolant expansion tank was low and I tracked down a slow drip drip driping from a hose at the very bottom of the engine. The hose in question runs from a 2 way plastic breech-lock manifold (looks integrated with the hose) that connects with the engine block and "lower...

Re: 07' XC90 front strut bolts...
They're commonly reused for sure and even if they are TTY its possible the remaining baked-in safety margins of the system is sufficient to prevent failure and last forever anyway. Maybe not. We dont know. I typically reuse fasteners but this is too critical of an assembly to roll the dice on over s...

Re: 07' XC90 front strut bolts...
Volvo sez replace em, strut-to-knuckle connections are commonly TTY, and the 77ft lb + 75 degree spec is gettin' into the yield ballpark. Is there any evidence or documentation that these are TTA and not TTY assemblies or are we going on feelings and anecdote? Anecdotally, I reused my original strut...
