With the fob or with the key itself my car sometimes refuses to lock or unlock. Up until today it was just the fob that would glitch (replacement battery didn’t help). Now it will not even open with the key sometimes. Or lock with the key for that matter. Randomly it will start working again. Tested...

UPDATE: although I posted this years ago, I’m just now back on this site. On the off chance this will help someone- this issue was the ignition going bad. The ignition wasn’t communicating properly with the transmission, so it would default to “limp home mode”.

Believe it or not, when it was having this issue originally it didn’t have any stored codes. That would be way too easy, right? It also wouldn’t repeat the issue for the mechanic.

I doubt it's the PNP switch, but I guess it could be. It only acts up under specific conditions. It's also an automatic. I do appreciate any and all suggestions though!

I was able to drive the car for about 30 minutes to get a proper hot reading. It measures at the very top of the hot line, but not actually above. The CEL blinked on once, so I guess it could have misfired. It didn’t stay on though, and wasn’t repeatedly blinking.
