Read the forum "Don's ETM Room." You might want to go for the XeModex ETM repair @ about $600. You can't just drop any old ETM into the car - it has to be "married" with a computer. I hope you still have the original ETM.

Have you checked the bulbs?

It could be a bad turbo oil seal, bad piston rings, or bad valve stem seals. The turbos are on the back of the engine (firewall side). You can get DVD manuals on eBay. Search for Volvo VADIS. The UK sellers seem to have the best prices.
