The dealer won't even return my calls...

The tires I've used have either been spec or a bit larger.

I will post a reply when I hear back from the dealer.

Speedo indicating faster than actual speed...

2001 S60T, ~150K kms: Since using a GPS, I noticed that the speedometer in the S60 registers faster than the speed indicated on the GPS, or compared to another car claiming the same speed. My concern is that this would also accrue more than actual mileage on the odometer. Tire size was correct: 205R...

RAW gas smell! - 98 V70R Air Pump & fault codes...

Check Engine light on... & I smell raw gas after reducing speed from hwy driving: - code PO 410; - told that I need a new secondary air pump & air pump check valve; - air pump cycles on when cold start -- extra strain on battery, coupled with weak alternator... Does all this make sense? Ther...

Zimmermann rotors?

Are the Zimmermann brake rotors that FCP sells worth buying? The sell on FCP for $35 each, but my local Volvo dealer wants $106 for each OEM Volvo. Is there much difference?

For a 98 V70R AWD

Total Quartz synthetic oil

Has anyone heard of, or has used Total Quartz synthetic oil? It's a European oil, designed for European cars. An independent Volvo master tech recommended trying it for my next oil change ('98 V70R). I currently run Royal Purple with excellent results, however I was considering using Mobil 1, as man...

Drilled or not drilled? -- rear brake rotors for V70R

I need to replace my rear brake rotors in my '98 V70R. I see on FCP Groton, that there are two kinds: Zimmerman drilled $53.00 or the not-drilled, $32.00. Does anyone have any pros and cons for using (or not using) drilled rotors; i.e., is it worth the extra $20?? And which kind of brake pads are re...

Following up on this thread: (1998 V70R) I had my secondary air pump, SAS valve, and lines checked this morning. No problems. The tech drilled a small hole in the air pump to drain any water that might have been trapped inside -- nothing. Turns out that a dying alternator is to blame for not chargin...

I did notice that the ashtray's light in the front doesn't seem to shut off... I just finished checking my heater core to see if it was leaking, and noticed the ashtray light on... I will check other light sources too. Thanks. :)

You know, I think that sounds right, considering that I have had poor gas mileage, and I had an emission fault code indicated on the OBDII after the check engine light came on.

I will check the air pump, etc. and get back to the forum.

Thanks!

I charged the battery, and started the car to do an alternator test, with and without load. The Voltmeter indicated the correct increase (according to Chilton's) of Volts of approx. 0.75 - 1 Volts with and without load. When I started the car, a fan or motor started up -- not the radiator fan -- thi...
