Re: ABS Plug wiring 98 V-70

Thanks, guess I'll hold off on shrink wrap until i see it working. Wierd that the original wiring they are both red. How can anyone know what is the correct connection? Couldn't find a wiring diagram for this. Not sure it would help anyway with the wires being identical. BTW, I hate electrical stuff.

ABS Plug wiring 98 V-70

Hello, my ABS plug had a meltdown which I see has happened to others as well. I got a new (salvage yard) plug and rebuilt module and am splicing in the new plug. All wires colors match just fine, although there are two larger red wires and two larger black. I assume they are both hot and ground wire...

I do have the special tools. I just did this work on my wifes 97 850 and made them for it. So when I saw a car on Craigslist for cheap needing the same repair I picked it up. It came with the receipt from the garage they took it to. They put in a new radiator, and removed the head. It was warped, so...

96 850 turbo, what heads are compatable?

Hello all, I just picked up a 96 850 turbo basket case. The head is warped and I have a 97 850r motor i could use, but am not sure how compatable this motor is with the 96 turbo. I dont have the turbocharger from the R. I also found a head from a 98 v70 and am wondering if this is compatable as well...

Fix the overheating problem ASAP. Aluminum engines do not like excessive heat. Spend a little now to save a lot later.

Well, it isnt really rocket science, but "just" removing the head involves removing a lot of crap to get at it. Then putting it all back together properly. If you are patient and organized, I'd say anyone could do it. Almost all of the cost to have a shop do this is in the labor. I spent a...

Got my Head on straight!

After a marathon of wrench turning, I got my cylinder head back on the other day. With fingers crossed and a prayer to the auto repair gods, it started right up with a single turn of the key. It took a while, with messed up part orders, slow machine shop (they do good work though) and other delays. ...

I fabricated the tool and probably a good thing I did. Using the bolts might have worked, but I think there would have been a good chance of stripping threads, or maybe getting uneven force on the cover and tweaking it. The Haynes book describes "signifigant resistance" from the lifters. I...
