Sorry for the delay. You guys won't believe this. I got a code for the coolant temp sensor but thought nothing of it in regards to this problem. I mean lets get serious how often does one hear that a coolant sensor causes a car to accelerate or not start at all? Well i replaced the sensor with one ...

The contact cleaner did no help. But it was worth a try! (Thanks MadeInJapan) So I ordered new parts. I got a replacement sensor and thermostat from FCP Groton yesterday. (I was too cheap to pay more than UPS Ground). This morning I pulled the old thermostat and sensor and replaced both. The enginge...

Is the oil pump stock? What you're describing sounds like a great amount of oil is pumped into the head at a much greater rate than on a stock engine. What happens when the engine is idling or reving at relatively low rpm and you remove the filler cap? Any oil coming out then? The main difference be...

Try the balloon trick on the Dipstick tube. If the balloon does not inflate, you're friend may need just a new gasket on the Oil-filler cap. I've seen several reports of the gasket going bad. If the balloon does inflate, the PCV line may be clogged. I have a hunch though that the race track engine j...

94 850 Turbo - Coolant Temp Sensor
Hi all, I need a second opinion. Yesterday on the commute home (after I passed a particular rough section of pavement) the temperature gauge suddenly dropped all the way down to nill. The engine then proceeded to surge. A few miles later and a few more bumps from the rough pavement, the needle came ...

Can it be done? yes, but I would not advocate doing so. Check the legal stuff before you do that! You may end up in hot water with your insurance company and/ or a potentially injured passenger should the car be involved in a collision where the air-bag should have deployed but didn't due to being d...

If all your dash lights act up in unison, My first thought would be a loose connection at the dimmer switch. There may be better ways of going about to check this conection, but the only one I know is to pull the entire dash board cover off. This includes disconnecting the pasenger side airbag, so d...

I just did the odometer fix last weekend. I, too have a Turbo, so the needle for the turbo boost gauge had to come off. The needle has a female joint which slips snugly over the shaft of the mechanism behind the cluster. Mine slipped back a bit too easy and actually fell off when I turned the instru...

Can anyone educate me on the O2 sensors? Besides the cable length, what is the difference between the rear and the front O2 sensor? On the generic O2 sensor: Since the ECU compares the values off the front and rear sensors, it would make sense to me if the engine might run poorly if one sensor is OE...

I had the same problem on the rear passenger side door. I finally traced it to a bad switch. You might be able to jumper the switch, if the glass rises with the switch bypassed, then it's the contacts in the switch. If the problem persists, it's time to put the meter to the motor and see if it draws...
