S70GLT Transmissions
Looking at 99 S70GLT. The engine needs a valve job and does not run. My question is how reliable are these transmissions. Our V70XC has 330,000 miles on the original tranny but then again I flush every few years. Thanks

Re: Timing belt replacement
The belt says 331. Appears to be correct. I'll try again.

Timing belt replacement
Volvo V70XC
Can't seem to get the belt over the cams. FCP supplied the correct belt. Doesn't seem long enough.
I've set the belt adjuster to the most slack position.
Suggestions.

Re: 2002 XC70 - mouse body parts in the belt and pulleys
OK, want to finish today. New water pump, idler, belt adjuster completed.
Trying to get the timing belt on. Any tricks for this. Adjuster slackened all the way. Hard to see how to get belt over cam pulley. Not long enough.

Re: 2002 XC70 - mouse body parts in the belt and pulleys
OK, before I read this, I had my son give me a hand. He turned the crank and I watched for the marks.
The belt jumped. I have the lower marks set and the upper cam marks are about five teeth past.
Should I remove the belt and rotate the cams BACK to the Marks? And set from there?
