OK, I really feel dumb. I had my buddy riding in the car with me and I said "see what happens when I start-up from a stop or take a turn too sharp, my battery light comes on." He calmly informed me that was my coolant light and that I was probably low on coolant and the float gauge was bei...

Battery light comes on for a second when turning '97 850

Occasionally, when I make a turn, the battery light will come on for a second or 2 - no longer. It is usually after I have been driving the car for at least 15 - 20 minutes. 1997 850 sedan with 160K.

Here is a breakdown for those of you NOT mechanically inclined enough (like me) to tackle the gap adjustment work on the A/C compressor clutch. 1. Remove A/C compressor and adjust clutch - 3 Hours labor @ $75/hr 2. General A/C servicing - $75 3. Freon added - $24 Total PLUS TAX = $344.99 For me anyw...

I am waiting for a return call from a local repair guy I've dealt with and I will let you know. My past experience tells me that I never get out of there without spending between 400 - 600. We shall see.

Thanks for the link to this thread. It saved me from searching the entire forum for it. Glad to see I have a "classic" problem with my '97 850 and that it's readily fixable.
Thanks!

Got the pry bar - worked like a charm. It also made it easier to get some leverage when re-installing. Thanks for your help. Trunk works great now!

Ok - I did get the seat bolster off and it gets me a little bit better access but I'm gonna have to wait until tomorrow to go out and buy a pry bar - my screwdriver doesn't do the trick.

Trunk Struts

OK, tell me what I'm doing wrong. I got the clips off fine. I cannot for the life of me get the claw hook end off! I took the seat bolsters off to get a better angle and everything but they won't budge. I've already bent the crap out of them trying to take them off. Tell me a way to remove the claw ...
