Given its a 2003 Volvo it probably not a hot target for car thieves. I had plans once to carefully remove the rfid chip from the key and glue it near the ignition antenna inside the plastic steering cover. This would basically bypass the immobilizer. My fob case needed to be replaced so when moving ...

Re: Can you check a timing belt without taking it off?

Of the one I know that went, it wasn't the belt but the idle pulley. Which is a typical replacement when doing the timing belt. If you lived in a rust belt area, then I wouldn't push the milage. If you live in a place where 20 years old cars look new, then you can probably get more mileage out of it.

At this point I would replace the heater core, not to difficult. I had a similar issue of luke warm air. I replaced the heater core with one from the salvage yard and heat returned. I assume it was a partial clogged, since I had a heat differential between the hoses.

You can verify the bend motor and linkage is operating. Remove the side panel of the center console and kick panel under the drivers side. Just above the heater core you can see the linkage and motor for the bend door that directs air over the core. With the car running adjust the temp from low to h...

I've always wonder what that white tube is and when it breaks on removal why can't just that hose be replaced. Would save a ton of money over replacing the complete hose assembly.

If JRL comment about a communication issue and your comment about humility makes sense. There is a recall on the fuel pump. Perhaps you can get the dealer to replace for free. Also has the fuel filter every been replaced. If your replacing the fuel pump you might want to replace the filter.

The smaller is about 4 1/2 inches long, if yours measure about 4 1/2 inches you have the smaller one.

Re: 2001 S60 - Driver side window will not go down

+1 for the contacts.

I had a similar problem on a different car. The module plugged together tightly but the contact pins inside the module where lose. A simple pinch on the female pins tighten everything up and fixed my problem.

0. For Turbos remove the hard tube running over the engine from front to back. Losing the ring clamp in front to separate the hard tube from the rubber. Two other torx screws need to be remove that hold the tube in place. You can leave the rear connected and just push the tube around when needed. 1....

My wife called me today while driving to tell me the car had a message: "Low Voltage". Now when the car starts, it's very slow to engage. My wife's S60 has developed a clunk/rattle in the front suspension. I removed the wheels today to inspect all the suspensions components. Re: 2002 XC70 Surging when going up hill....around 3,000 rpm

In my experience bad plugs would result in a lost of power under load. The car would feel like it was temporary losing power. My experience with a bad TCV is a temporary gain of power, the car accelerates.

So depending on the experience, a gaining or losing of power.

I had the same symptoms with my wife 02 S60 2.4T, the surge was a result of the turbo "kicking in" late. The dealer is most likely correct to suspect the Turbo Control Value or a leak in one of the three hoses connecting to it. The turbo control value hangs from the side of the air box and is vary e...

I'm not sure the tranny size lines are 5/16. Reading the Transmission flush directions, the directions say for P2 cars the hose's outer diameter (OD) should be 1/2, which makes the inner diameter (ID) 3/8. A 5/16 ID would be a thick holes. I'm actually planing on installing one soon. It looks easy o...
