Okay, here's the issue...the car was running hot, thought it was a bad thermostat or temp sensor...replaced those. when i unscrew the coolant overflow tank, i saw coolant come back up to the max line. Eventually they checked the coolant level again and found that it was empty so they put more in ...

its not shot yet...but it runs really hard when its cold...so i'm figuring it wont make another winter. tranny specialist said there werent any codes but the solenoids are probably wearing down so they don't allow the fluid to coat everything.

Does anybody kno a good place to purchase a new tranny for a 01 s40?

all of a sudden my heater blows cool air when turned on. if i turn it on the lowest setting, it'll blow out some warm air until the car reaches operating temp...then its cold air coming out.

i'm replacing my thermostat and was wondering if it is absolutely necessary to drain the coolant. the coolant looks fine, smells fine and is at the right level. if i have to do it, does anybody know a cheaper equivalent to the volvo coolant

aha...as i suspected. is it true that once a transmission is tinkered with that its as good as dead? like they're so intricate that once repaired they're more likely to fail again.
