Re: Ignition lock failure; Can't turn past "0"...help!
Thanks for taking a shot at it, Allen, but in this case it's not the shift-lock. In fact, we recently replaced the shift-know mechanism that breaks down...but this time it's the internals of the actual keyway that have broken down; and I suspect there are broken parts inside...my wife mentioned that...

Re: Powerflex Bushes
I have used Powerflex in my BMW 5 series. They are quite good; a tad stiffer than stock, but not annoying. Not sure how they would be in a Volvo, but in my opinion anything that adds stiffness to a Volvo V70 would be a good thing...I have tried to improve the stiffness in every way I can think of, a...

OBD2; interface ELM 327 vs. "volvo" chipset 232
I need to buy an OBD2 interface for my PC...and it seems from looking on Ebay, there are at least 2 choices: the genaric interface called "ELM 327" for $45, and another termed "volvo chipset 232" for about $80... Which would be better? Do I truly need the 232? And is 232 ONLY for...

It is no problem at all to mix that small residual amount with your new brand oil.ykfc wrote: I must only decide now whether it is any big deal to mix 300 ml oil of another brand to 5000ml.

Re: Right (passenger) side Control Arm replacement problem
I looked at mine today, and before doing all that raising work, I would first try to get a boxed end wrench in there with the "handle" above and to the right. The amount of turn might be limited but it looks like there is room to turn it 10 degrees or so. I tackled that Control Arm replac...

These bolts are really really tight. I doubt a crow's foot would fit in there and be able to move them at all.MadeInJapan wrote:I would be tempted to use a crow's foot socket and not raise the oil pan on that bolt.
