Re: AC blower resistor removal

You're welcome, took me a minute to remember that.
If you haven't reassembled everything yet, you'll find that the blower motor is easier to install without that pesky tray attached. After tightening the screws just snap it back on. Easier to remove w/o it too!

Re: AC blower resistor removal

Just thought about something -
you did pop the drain tray (the part w/ the integral hose connector) off, right?

Re: AC blower resistor removal

If I am correct in understanding where you are at in the process; 1) Put the blower "Blades Down" on a flat surface. 2) remove the 2 screws on either side of the top of the shaft end. 3) Carefully pry the motor and cap assembly apart paying attention to slide the little cable through the h...

Re: dash fan causing vibration on higher settings

Sounds like your vent fan could be the cause to me. It's behind the glove box - there are several excellent videos online to help you. You really need the flexible screw driver (or a flexible drill shaft - a little cheaper) to get the front screw. Do not break the tab like at least one person sugges...

Light Sensor issues

I recently noticed that I was unable to see my radio display and the Climate Contol lights while driving during the daytime. Hours of perusing the internet have not provided a clear fix. Complicating the issue is that apparently there are several different sensors possibly involved. What I have have...

Re: how to turn off low beam light on 2004 S80 Volvo

So far as I know, only one study has found no statistically significant difference in crash statistics between cars using DRL/Low Beams and nothing. Every other study indicates at least a 8.7% decrease in accidents for cars using either one. I would think that would be enough reason right there, gue...

What energy is being wasted?
Besides - it is proven to be safer to drive with your lights on.

Re: Vent fan problems

Thanks.
Actually the 230,000 miles example is on an S70 - still working but I'll replace ita th the first sign of problems - the post was about a 70,000 S80, which is why I was thinking that the motor should still be good but I'll just hook it up to 12 volts and see if it spins freely.

Vent fan problems

2005 S80. Problem started with erratic vent fan speed, could get fan running by pulling and removing fuse but eventually nothing. So I removed the blower motor (not quite as easy as those write ups suggest but doable). Now my question is how do I determine whether my problem is my fan or the resisto...

Re: 1999 S80 alot of electrial doesn 't work

I'm no S80 electrical expert - I'm having my own issues at the time, but whenever changing the battery you should cycle the lock/unlock buttons on the fob. A quick search will verify the veracity of this seeming bizarre (to me) procedure. (this one lists two common procedures and is pleasantly short...
