1999 S70 PCV flame trap

Volvo flame trap.JPG Finally finished replacing the PCV flame trap on daughter's Volvo S70. It was stopped up with carbon and gunk. Made the mistake of putting a new gasket on the oil filler cap when it was stopped up and it started puking oil out of the cam seals. Put in PCV kit from ipdusa, which...

Re: Cost to replace ABS Module?

Matt: Installed refurb unit I ordered from you in my daughter's '99 S70 non-tracs. Knock on wood, no ABS light, funky speedometer or plethora of other abnormalities. The old one went out on Priority Mail Monday, so you should have it soon.
Thanks!

Re: If any of you are on BITOG...

Matty, just ordered an abs unit from you for my daughter's '99 S70 non-traction control. I've been a member over at BITOG for a long time, and we get some wild and crazy guys at times. If you visit often enough, you'll figure out who has the sage advice and who needs to refill their meds!

Re: '99 S70 starts, immediately stalls, repeat (SOLVED)

Starting getting P0181 code, which is the immobilizer ring. I had a new ignition switch (expensive because it has to be programmed by Volvo) installed about eight or nine months ago. Couldn't figure out why the car would start, stall, start, stall. Might do it seven or eight times before it would ke...

Re: Power steering pump pulley

FYI, Chris Delano of IPDusa responded to my email query with this: The power steering pumps are the same, but they did use different belts in those years which would be related to the pulley.

Power steering pump pulley

On my daughter's '99 S70 NA, thought rattle coming from serpentine belt area was the belt tensioner, so replaced tensioner and belt. Rattle still there. My independent mechanic did the screwdriver to the ear trick and said it was the power steering pump, but he'd never heard one do that before. My d...

Confusion reigns on PS fluid

After an exhaustive search in this forum and Google, I'm more confused than ever about what to use for power steering fluid in my daughter's 1/99 manufacture date S70 NA. The gasket on the fluid reservoir lid is red and the manual (I read about incorrect info) says ATF. I used my MightyVac to remove...

Re: Different size battery in S70

I'll try to take the positive post cover off the old battery and fashion one for the 24FS. Thanks JDS60R!

Different size battery in S70

My daughter called tonight and car wouldn't start. Battery was so dead it wouldn't even unlock the doors. Anyway, I had a brand new Everstart size 24FS battery in my shop. I know the S70 is supposed to get a size 47 or 48 battery. I installed the 24FS, which is slightly taller and doesn't have the f...
