Regarding front end shake, the only causes I've had are imbalanced wheel(s), or a bent wheel.

Picked up a 1990 740GL Wagon, which am very pleased about. However, it has a couple of minor issues with the instrument panel: the speedometer, odometer, and fuel gauges don't register one bit. The tach and temp gauge work properly.

Any ideas where I should begin my investigation?
