Re: chasing the anti skid gremlin

Just seeing this as I'm not normally on here, but you may be causing yourself a ton of headache by not using VIDA to scan your car. Your scan tool MAY not be able to communicate just because it can't communicate with the SAS, not necessarily because the car has a problem. Get VIDA and you will be ab...

Re: 2002 V70 lifting

Are those springs all the exact same wire diameter and # of coils? If not, the free height isn't the only thing that will affect the installed height as they aren't all the same stiffness.

That's ok, you don't have to agree. I'm just telling it like it is.

Re: Seems NGK IX Iridium Spark Plugs Caused CEM Codes Limp Mode Topic is solved

The shop I work at has used those plugs on all turbo Volvos that they fit with for over 10 years without issue. There may have been a single bad plug here or there, but they are good plugs and work on P2 Volvos(excluding P2R models that have the longer threads).

Re: Spark Plugs: Copper vs Iridium vs Platinum FF#32

You don't need anything re-tuned to use different spark plugs and you won't risk engine or catalyst damage if they have the right gap, measurements and heat range...

Re: Engine weird sound - 3.2 - XC90 2011

The XC90s don’t have the same setup and when the torque mount is this worn out, it can make some very concerning noises. The P3 chassis cars don’t have the same noise when their mount(s) are worn and that right mount collapses a lot on those, but not the P2 based XC90.

Do NOTHING until you replace the worn out upper torque mount. Get a Hutchinson brand or Volvo.

Re: Spark Plugs: Copper vs Iridium vs Platinum FF#32

Definitely voodoo. We use those plugs on almost all of the 99-2009 5cyl turbo cars(except the 2.5T5/R motors and the 2.5Ts in the P1 chassis cars) without issue at our shop and have sold thousands over the years.

Re: No Turbo? No Problem! Part 2. It's FF#36!

Intake cam was 3 degrees advanced and exhaust was 3 retarded for that quickest run. A little less fuel and junk in the trunk and I think it would be capable of a 16.5. Pretty darned good indeed for 226k!

Wow, sweetness. That's a lot of power through an M56. What do you plan to do with the car? Drag race? Just take to shows? Track days?

Re: my 736 hp 850 wagon tuned on AEM EMS

What brand are those seats?

What turbo is on the car?

What is done to the bottom end?

Where are the dyno sheets?

What transmission?

How does it drive?

Where do you drive it?

Re: A Monster Bolt-On Turbo Kit: Fast Friday #30!

I apologize for reviving this but you stated that this will be available for ALL 5 cylinder P2 engines. I'm just going to assume that means the N/A models right? You could bolt it on, but it won't work. The engine management is different and would likely require many changes, if it's even possible....

Re: Spark Plugs: Copper vs Iridium vs Platinum FF#32

These typically last 25-30K with regular driving mixed with some spirited driving. Why don't they sell these as normal use... not sure you'd have to ask Bosch. I'd guess it's due to cost. I like them too, they really help those cars that are hard on plugs especially those at or near 300bhp. No real...

Re: Spark Plugs: Copper vs Iridium vs Platinum FF#32

How long do they last and why don't they sell these as normal use plugs?

It's a side gapped plug that was designed that way from the get go. I like it. So, the heat range is comparable to the 8 heat range NGK plugs? Are you having problems with them fouling from being too cold for daily use?

Re: Piston cooling valve V70 2.4T 2001 (No oil pressure)

We've used the 30750783 kit on 20+ cars over the years without this issue popping up before. There are always extra o-rings/seals/gaskets left over as they supply enough to cover a range of vehicles. There are also the oil cooler to oil pan rings that need replacing separately(30637339), but other t...
