Well the Velcro worked for a bit but then it started to come apart. I ordered the kit with the metal bits that replace the holes in the tailgate. This has worked fine so far and was very easy to fit.

well it will have a fuse so just check them all to be sure.

The ABS controller was faulty.
The headlights is probably the switch but they didn't have time to check it
The headlight switch is a factory recall on the 1997 850 so it'll be free next time.
Reversing lights was the switch.

The CD cartridge on my Cd changer (1997 850) was stuck when I bought it. I took it apart (easy enough, just four screws) and removed the cause, which was a jammed CD. The in line fuse had also gone (probably due to repeated attempts to unjam the cd) Having put it all back together it works fine now....
