Re: Tire Size question
I hope it's okay to jump in here with another question. My 2007 - S80 came with 245/40/18 tires and I haven't been able to find anyone who can tell me why they put such wide tires on a sedan. It does have the sport package.
Thank you for any information you can offer.

Re: Starter / immobilizer
You don't state the year of your S80 but since you say it's a key start I assume it is an older model. If it were the immobilizer you would not be able to do anything let alone engage the starter motor. Sounds mechanical.

You might find someone with an answer at the Volvo forum called "Swedespeed". A lot of young techy types trying to push the window on things like this.

Re: Front End Shaking 2002 S80 2.9
A problem has to have a starting point. When did the vibration start and what where the circumstances? For example, you state that the car has upgraded 17' alloy wheels. Was the vibration present before you did the upgrade? What was the first thing you tried to solve the problem. Tire balance? Just ...

Re: maintenance fees
That sounds like total B.S. Regular service such as oil change and filter can be done by any one including yourself. Lubricating a door hinge is also a diy sort of thing. Warranty work is listed in your owners manual and it will tell you what type of things are covered under your new car warranty in...

Re: front passenger door lock immediately pops back up again
I'm not a mechanic, but your right it's not an electrical problem sense the system has power to all of the components. I wonder if it could be the actuator in the passenger door that is at fault. Even if your a DIY'er you could have a shop take a look and give you an estimate and a diagnosis. Hopefu...

Re: elec. fan stuck ON
I have a 07 and know nothing about a 99, but a quick observation would wonder if there musen't be a sensor that tells the fan when to come on and when to shut off according to the radiator temp. When I shut off my 3.2 after a long drive the fan will sometimes stay running after I shut off the car. W...

Re: 99' S80 Amp Blowing Fuses... help
Speakers are speakers so to speak, in that a speaker will work connected to any source. The exception is that each speaker is rated by impedance or ohms. Most speakers will be marked on the back with 4 ohms, 8 ohms, 16 ohms. these are most common. (Instead of the word "ohms" they may use t...
