sounds like you have some pressure to the steering wheel..are the front wheels up against a curb or other object? try putting the key into the ignition switch....if you cant turn the key try turning the steering wheel hard to one side while trying to turn the key.. if it does not work then turn the ...

had two similar problems with my 2001 v70 xc 2.4t...hit the gas hard one day and lost all power...went crazy testing everything...changing coil....car had gone into limp mode..car towed to volvo. and had the computer reflashed(there was a recall) only paid for towing..car ran great...few months late...

i have a v70xc with 2.4t and had all kinds mof problems like yours...replaced coils tested fuel pressure.....try changing the thermastat sensor on the thermostat housing.. about 20.00.. if its telling the computer the wrong temp it will do all kind of strange stuff.... good luck......chuck

check front half shafts; the right one is longer and most common cause of vibration...also check drive shaft going to the rear..there is a carrier bearing in the middle of the shaft... it has a rubber bushing around it.Look at the bushing and see if it is shot or sticking out...if it is, its the cau...

drive shaft going to the rear wheels has a carrier bearing located in the center of the drive shaft...check to see if the rubber bushing around the bearing is shot...if it is shot this is causing your vibration at speed. you cant change the bearing you must change the whole shaft...about 900.. dolla...

during the hard stop you may have kicked up some "slop" from the bottom of your fuel tank.May have plugged up your fuel filter, causing hard start...may be a cheap fix... good luck, let me know how you make out.

trying to solve a problem with my 2001 xc. I have found that if you disconnect the battery for 30 min. and turn the key on, then reconnect the battery, the check engine light turns off....it comes back on if the problem still exists...worth a try let me know if this works for you

was driving 2001 v70 xc turbo and temp gauge kept diving to cold like it was unpluged.today reads cold and does not move.Removed therostat and heated it up in water to about 190 deg. and it opened.put it back together without thermostat and disconnected fan.Tryed disconnecting the electronic cooling...
