Re: need input on ticking noise when cold??

-Use a MANN/Volvo filter only. Don't use the orange Fram ones. i couldnt agree more with this. cut a fram filter in half and you will find what looks like corrigated cardboard!! if you put a fram on a ford 3v 5.4l engine you can kiss your cam phasers and tappets goodbye. I proabably choosr Mobil 1 ...

Re: What can be done to increase performance of a V-90 2.9 6

960 transmission are pretty much bullet proof. i had a 94 with aftermarket adjustable cam gears and cold air intake. with 190K miles i used to do neutral - drive slams  with it, never had any slips or misses. the trans type is a X700 (x being some letter) (700 denotes maximum power input). ...

Re: S70 2000 - Help with some error codes

o2 code is probably the o2 sensor itself. although the wiring could be the issue its more common to be a fault in the sensor. as for the fuel gauge-change the location of where you buy gas(ie...switch from racetrac to bp or what have you) cheap fuel can cause a build up of corrosion on the fuel leve...

Re: V70 XC 98 Possible MAF?

ouch! i wouldnt load the parts shotgun until you verify the cause of the concern. do some research and see what other sensors the the pcm uses to infer the intake air temperature. have you verified the circuit of the above mentioned sensor back to the pcm? youll probably need a wiring diagram with t...

Re: V70 XC 98 Possible MAF????

on most newer cars, yes the iat is integral to the maf sensor. but on a 98 probably not. i had the same code in my 98 s70 turbo. took about an hour to figure out it was refering to the temp sensor mounted in the lower facia. i had removed the front lower splash shield (sensor mounts in splash shield...

Re: battery lite

so just to clarify, all you changed was the serp belt? if u replaced the altenator, maybe the pulley is a different size and u need to swap it with the old one? or you routed your belt wrong? flashing batt light would be an intermittent problem so also check for loose connection and corrosion.

Re: wanna help a ford tech?

wow! thanks for the quick reply. that diagram is easier to read than the ford ones lol. but i fear i have made a mistake in not specifying ingition switch . but this is an excellent resource i shall hold on to. i wish to hook up a turbo timer and need pinouts and colorcodes on the ignition switch an...

Re: Manual Boost Control opinions wanted

i just received mine today actually! got it on ebay. i did some research on the cheap, no name brand manual boost controllers on ebay (oh you know they say "high performance turbo controller" on em). turns out some folks have written good reviews about them. its black includes the control ...
