With a 6 year old car @80 k be prepared to do timing belt, Wheel bearings, CV Axles and in the not to distant future you will be looking at Struts, Ball joints, Motor mounts, Tranny mount, PCV Cleaning etc etc etc. A Volvo is a Great Car if you can keep it maintained. While you are at it. Check the Wheel bearing. I would replace the Wheel Bearing. It will go bad if it isnt already(hub assy. $90-130) The Vibration is from the Axle, the grinding generally comes from the hub.

If you are doing it yourself. Just pay special attention while cleaning the banjo bolt, elbo(it has small holes) and associated line. Thats what gets clogged.

Did my V70 at 120k. Used Seafoam in the crankcase to make sure and get all the junk... Car uses less oil and stays clean longer.

I know it sounds to good to be true but Have you checked the Filler Cap? Those seals get hard and leak!! Take the covers off and look there for oil. I have had it drip down from the sides.. Oil trap is a must!

My V70 has a 130k on it and I used the Seafoam product and had a improvement, It went from basically every shift to a daily 3 to 4th flare. I'm not big on the swells seals things either.. Coming up on 3k and I am going to Seafoam and flush it again.. keeping my fingers crossed...
