Great questions, this oil trap should not have even been made....im think it collects oil but its not supposed to get full, it should recirculate it,
basically volvo over-engineered half this car and this is one of those things

i think the dealer calls it the oil trap, i call it the money trap, such an over complicated design that did not have to be done like that...

Fixed, thanks, i could not get under there comfortably so i paid someone else with a lift to do it, but all is fine now, i still had the turn signal working though, but the fuse for the washer pump blew and had to be replaced as well btw

99 T6 the wires that power the washer fluid pump and level sensor seem to have been ripped apart.. i can solder them back together but its hard to understand which wires connect to what,the yellow wires seem to be intact, but there are 3 black wires that are ripped, i have vadis but it only shows th...

Well just before i had my rack rebuilt i panicked and called the dealer, they told me something outrageous like 2000 dollars for a new rack only, plus two more parts ( sounds like those line the guy before mentioned) plus labour anyways 8 months later im not regretting a thing, no leaks and steering...

yup had this done on my car, paid $1450 canadian to rebuild mine, now all is well, i do suggest a rebuilt instead of a used one as you never know what you are getting

on these cars is it really recommended doing this ? given all the problems with etm's and also how fussy electronic TB's can be, i would think twice before doing this

mine started leaking after i changed my trans fluid, the mechanic i think did not refill it to the proper level, drove it, and then noticed it leaking,, i paid about $11 dollars canadian for the seal, and the guy did it for free, its a bit of a pain to get to, its located on the drive shaft right at...
