Re: Serpentine Belt broke while driving - new belt won't install!

I have learned a long time ago that for my BMWs and Volvos, I only use INA tensioner and Conti belt, which are exactly what came from factory.

They fit perfectly, zero issues.

Re: $6500 for repairs??

Stay away from that shop, they ripped you off BIG time. For the 6-cyl engine, even 6 spark plugs and 6 coils do NOT cost more than $300! For example (rmeuropean.com): - Volvo Ignition Coil $70/each. - Bremi Ignition Coil $36/each. You need to find an independent and honest shop that knows something ...

Re: 1996 850 2.3T blown #2 Rod

Personally, I'd sell the thing to junk yard for about $400.

Spend $4K-$K and buy a "new" 2004-2007 S60 or V70, the P2 is nice.
I bought my 2004 V70 with 100K miles (driven by an old lady) for $4000 a year ago.
Great car. Easy to repair. Nothing major yet.

Re: Seems NGK IX Iridium Spark Plugs Caused CEM Codes Limp Mode

I installed the BKR6EIX plugs in my 2005 XC90 2.5T with 100K miles.
That was 3 years ago, zero issues, fuel mileage is better with Iridium plugs.

Re: Ever seen an oil pan hole like this?

Easy test...

Remove all 5 spark plugs.
Get a long piece of chopstick or 1/4" extension (make sure it is long enough), and place it down the spark plug hole.

Then turn the crank using the big nut.
The piston should go up and down...

Re: Releasing fuel lines at pump 1998 v70awd How?

The trick is to ROTATE the fitting first to break the bond created by the O-ring.

Then hook the tool UNDERNEATH the Red Plastic ring and pull it upward.

Re: Ever seen an oil pan hole like this?

As above... - JB Weld as a temp fix, add cheap regular oil, oil filter. - Don't run engine, do compression test. If a con rod is broken, then you don't have compression in that cylinder. Either new engine from reputable seller like Erie Volvo, or junk the car (a 200K car is worth $500) and buy a "ne...

At 200K km... - Timing Belt incl. 2 pulleys. The TB kit is about US $110 at Volvo dealer. - Serpentine Belt and its pulley (I posted DIY in forum). - Spark Plugs x5. - Trans ATF flush. - Check the brake hoses. My FRONT hoses were cracked at 110K. Replaced the FRONT brake hoses x2 ($15/each for FTE b...
