Re: P80 hydraulic tensioner detail 9135036

I know it does not really help, but I did get a set of 'stubby' Torx 3/8" sockets from Princess Auto here in Canada. Don't think they are the highest quality by far, but they have helped me several times with tight access like where you are working. Maybe Harbor Freight has something similar? https:...

Re: 850 Rear suspension question

Hi Manov, These bushes sit at the end of each of the rear 'axles' in a FWD car. They locate the axle to allow it to move with the suspension while keeping the rear wheels aligned with the car. They can be a challenge to remove, sometimes needing a lot of heat and a special tool that has been known t...

Re: Windshield Washer - weak spray. Filter location?

When I replaced the nozzle on my 2000 V70 I was advised by the dealer mechanics to use the P2 Volvo version as it gives better windshield spray coverage.

Re: 2000 V70 XC AWD acceptable jack points

I am Canadian by passport but Scottish originally before moving here 20 years ago. A decision I only regret as in Calgary it is impossible to find decent tradespeople! Country though and most people here are great. Would not go back! One brother in Santa Rosa, CA. Again he loves it there. Good luck ...

Re: 2000 V70 XC AWD acceptable jack points

Rear of car can be lifted by the central plate of the rear sub-frame under the rear diff. Side of car as you say by the original jacking points but only one side at a time. Front. I normally do one side at a time under the rear sub-frame mount. It is well supported. Not-sure I would lift at the midd...

Re: Free Exhaust Find - Rust Advice?

I truly hope so. If you have room they are not too terrible to install on a FWD car. At to the storage stash in the hope that some day you will use it. I have a huge pile of stuff just like that!!

Treating it makes sense before storing it as it will hopefully slow down any storage rust creep.

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)

I disagree. Looks like it has had it ass thrashed. The interior is filthy as are the wheels. There are no pictures of the seats and interior and probably for a good reason. Those codes and axles could be big money if related to the active suspension. At half the price it may be worth a chance, but i...

Re: Free Exhaust Find - Rust Advice?

I have to say, so far most of the products I find here in NA for rust protection are crap (sorry for being so blunt). All I can suggest is to clean it as best you can, try some rust converter and then paint with high temp muffler paint. I find that most mufflers rust from the inside out. They store ...

Re: Airbox thermostat failure...

The unit you picture above has what looks like a load of 'barb' plastic clips. If you clean off the dirt Along the straight ledge running down the unit as seen in the picture above on the RHS it may split open.
