Re: 98 V70R and its AWD

Ok I am more confused than normal. The VC (viscous coupling) is at the back end of the prop-shaft and is filled,I understand, with a silicon fluid to operated the clutches. This is sealed and not serviceable. The picture is the angle gear. These do leak from the axle seal on the RHS and can leak bet...

Re: ETM Program Pricing

What is the ETM issue you are having? Does the car run at all? If it runs, what are the problems it displays? If the car does not run, when you switch the ignition on, do you get a whirring from the ETM? If it is compatible, then the ETM butterfly will rotate and position the flap to start condition...

Re: S70 T5 -- softer ride? tires?

P80 offset is 43mm. Center hub 65.1mm. First thing to check is if 15" rims clear your calipers. T5 may need 16" to clear if your car is fitted with 300mm rotors. I am running 17" on my 00 'R' and it is firm but not too bad. Our roads around here are horrible. I removed the Bilstein HD shocks the car...

Re: SRS code 127

Not sure about that particular code. If the code normally illuminates the bulb, then I was told that it meant the system was disabled. Now I do not know if that actual code would illuminate or not, but as it would suggest the lamp istelf is bad, not sure if that would be a case to shut the system do...

Re: Cold weather start but won’t stay running...CTS ??

Is your car an NA or turbo? There may be another issue in relation to turbo cars and cold temperatures.

Turbo engines can have an issue with the intercooler freezing.

Re: Front Engine Mount Chunks

Been a whilecsince working on a P80 FWD. But ifemory serves therebare the 2 cone mounts (1 front + 1rear) near the middle of the block. Then there is the mount under the crank pulley which is the only one that tends to break (sure others can but this one most by far). I belive there is a small block...

Re: 98 V70 GLT Fuel Gauge

As the AWD has a 'saddle' type tank, it actually has 2 fuel level senders. One either side of the prop-shaft and the tank level is an average of the 2. Not sure why it would take so long to show the correct reading after a fill up of the tank. The fact that it eventually gets there would point towar...

Re: 850 GLT What is this piece? Topic is solved

Personally no. I have thought about it but it never went further than that.

I know it can be done, and sure I have read about it on this forum.

I would suggest starting a new thread on the subject as you are more likely to get help or pointers.

Good luck,

Neil.

Re: 850 GLT What is this piece? Topic is solved

That is the battery hold down clip. It fits (looking down on the battery from the front of the car, on the left hand end of the try nearest the radiator. If you look at the front edge of the battery try there are a few slots in the edge. You position (the correctly sized battery for your car) and ei...
