Should be a straight swap although 1993/4 can be different in some areas. Shame I don't have good access to the storage where all my spares are. I'm sure I have a good working Sc-810 (or it was when put away). Might even have an SC-815/6 but not sure what I have. It will be a month or so before I ca...

That is a good find! May have to look at this for my car. For a car that does very little mileage like mine and does not do a lot outside in winter, this may be worth it!

Thanks for sharing!

Not sure how much it will cost but looking at having a custom system built in T304. If that system you have is T304 it should not be rusted. Most aftermarket systems are expensive and made from crap like T409 which is no better than mild steel. I have seen T304 systems out there but mostly in Europe...

IF you clean the grease off around the shaft you should find a hidden reverse 'C' clip. You have to hold the shaft in a strong bench vice, expand the clip and hit the knuckle up on off. Much easier with a helper unless you have 3 hands. Sometimes the clip gets stuck in the groove. You may have to wo...

Well glad you got a way forward and like you said that replacing the connector or direct wiring may be the way to go with heat-shrink on the join. PITA if you have to change again but do-able. Leave extra wire and you can just snip and re-connect a new one if you ever need one.

You may want to look at the modified pipe system that many recommend over the standard pipework, especially with a higher mileage engine. It helps reduce clogging of the narrow pipes and lessens the crankcase internal pressure. You need to use oil compatible pipe. If I recall it is 5/8" internal dia...

It may not be anything new or re-built that is causing the problems. There is a bush at the front of the viscous coupling housing under the car that can wear and cause vibration when driving. The other suspect is the VC unit front bearing or the VC unit itself. The fact that the vibration was not th...

The sub-frames are the same as far as I recall. The differences between an XC and an AWD is the rear hub pick-up points are different for the control arms. I believe the upper control arms are the same, the lowers may be different Most of the rest can be swapped over. Fuel system is different but th...

It did exist. I checked a few years ago for the P80, even asked my brother in Sweden to check it out but nothing. If they are available that would be good to know. Hopefully we will have the new garage built before winter so at least while the cars are at home it will not be such a big issue.

You are correct. For your year it should be tucked up behind the RR passenger footwell. Bit of a bugger to get to. I found my V70 had 2 split pipes in that area. The 'J' pipe as well as a second one going to the roll over valve slightly forward of there.

Re: Anyone have a DIY for removing rear diff?

The rear sub-frame has to be removed as the sub-frame is a 'clam-shell' which is what clamps the rear diff in place. Volvo in their infinite wisdom decided to put the bolts holding the 2 halves together from the top of the sub-frame so it has to come out to to replace the diff. Other than having a V...

I had check light issues and transmission issues with a 2000 V70 I had. It turned out to be corrosion on the ETM and TCM modules. I have been wrong (according to my wife) before, but I thin this is not a signal issue as much as a gearing variance between AWD and FWD.

1) Spring seat on front left strut top.

Don't use standard rivets or washers. These are designed to pull through if you hit something with the car and not rip off the mountings. I found this out the hard way with a car I bought when I found the fender was creased when the PO had run it over a curb.

It could be that the old oil has congealed into the hole (assuming there is one). Also, you have assumed this is the problem, it may have been a bad seal between the pipes and not the evaporator itself.

Re: 94 Volvo 850T suspension or transmission noise

Did you grease the poly-bushes? If they get dry they will groan. Part of the reason I don't use them. Some like them but I don't as they transfer more vibration than good old rubber. Each to their own preference. If you have changed these items I am now scratching my 2 brain cells to think what else...

I know some have just cut the mount out being careful not to damage the support. As to installing a new one a piece of pipe and threaded rod as Robert used is by far the best way to ensure the mount is central in the bracket.

Good Luck!

Could be a wheel bearing starting to go, often shown in early stages when loaded and turning.

Of the other replacement parts, drier is #1 to buy. Pointless repairing system and not fitting new drier. For me there are 4 main culprits for A/C failures. 1) Evaporator corrosion and failure 2) Compressor clutch not engaging due to clutch out of spec. (see bread clip or Zip-tie fix). 3) Low pressure valve leaking (the valve near the drier unit on passenger side of engine bay) 4) Holed condenser in fro...

Pretty much any of the small lines in the engine bay. Some here suggest spraying something like WD-40 penetrating oil on the lines while running as it will help show the leak by how the engine is running. Under the passenger side of the dash, if you remove the glove box liner and the lower dash cover, just to the left of the heater fan there is a rectangular electric unit about 3" x 2" in the air pipe from the blower motor to the evaporator. How is the interchange process going? Have you figured out if the mountings are universal for the FWD and AWD rear ends? If you find out that they are then maybe that may help keep more of the AWD's running even if only in FWD as it will remove a lot of the obsolete parts from the equation.

+1 on this. If this is not an original Volvo axle, the clips on some of the aftermarket ones are either too big or small. Too small the axle will pop out by itself, too large and it is a bugger to get out.
