Shoes are always more trouble than pads. I have shoes on the rear of my old Ford truck. Adjustment is HARD.

I will be returning to this one post jet lag this week.

I am contemplating notching the pads deeper so they sit firmly in the shoe.

See attached concept - measure distance needed and relieve shoe notch to fit?

Any comments?

Are they the same radius as the originals? Have you spoken the FCP or whoever you bought them from to ask why they don't fit?

I haven’t spoken to fcp. They seem to be exact replacements for what was in the car but I think those were Bosch

Maybe the rotor/drun isn’t right. I’ll compare that too before Cutting shoes.

They are definitely not sitting all the way into the new hardware on the backing plate so something is wrong

Trying to remember if upstream I tried putting old shoes back on…..

The last set of Bosch shoes I fitted on a 05 P2 were Bosch and considerably thinner braking material than OE. Same with the 740. So, the issue is either a bad set of shoes, fitted in reverse (don't ask me how I know!) or possibly a not fully relaxed/sticking parking brake cable.

Try dropping the shoes into the rotor and see if they have the same curvature.
