Re: 544 wheels

Ford wheels 1950s-1980s can do it. See an experienced tire guy.

Re: fuel pressure

speaking of mechanical fuel pumps............. Disassemble a failed fuel pump, down to the valves. Likely to find a droplet of gray jelly-like substance, which I think is a mixture of water and dust. Remove the stuff and you're back in business. A few years down the road, when there's another failur...

Re: 1800 E- Electrical problem

self-tinning solder is the right stuff.

Also learned something from the Maytag man.. douse with electrical cleaner, and while wet, re-crimp old crimped connectors. Works on washing machine rotary switches so it ought to work on a 122s

AIR CLEANERS

Silver-solder spacers between the old covers. Great stuff. Polyester felt- I used strips. They stretch if treated roughly when cleaned. Hung to dry; they stretch; stretched, they thin in spots. Consider disk-shape felt sandwiched between the covers. Consider hobby-shop 1/16" or 1/32" marin...

Re: 1800 E- Electrical problem

No master fuse unless it's been added. Check battery ground, fusebox, fuses, junctions, connections. You'll be facing mysteries like this until you deal; with every connection you can reach in the wiring. Start with a modern fusebox & fuses. Tin every joint and connection. Get it over with Now.

Re: Need help reviving a 67 wagon

Air filters I have made an oversize cleanable set. Been awhile, so don't recall size details. Strip the old set of filter paper and adhesive off the end caps.. Removed cross-tube brackets, silver soldered longer ones to take longer bolts. You can go triple width I think. Filter elements, strips of s...

Re: 122S 1967 Coil

A 67 coil includes a resistor cable, which is inside that metal flex tube and a part of that assembly. 140 coils are without the flex cable arrangement, but the coils include proper resistance: that's how I beat this prob last time around. I'd rather use an ancient coil out of a junker (Bosch cables...

Re: Need help reviving a 67 wagon

If it will start and run on fresh gas, you can use the fuel pump to empty the tank. 1. supply the engine manually from a separate gas can. (The float chambers hold enough gas to drive over a mile.) A rubber ear syringe can feed fuel fast enough to keep the engine idling. 2. pull the pump-to-carb hos...
