Timing VVT hub

Hello everyone, need some direction on VVT hub timing. My 2013 has vvt on both cams. These vvt hubs are flat faced with no adjustment slots. Every write up I can find refers to hubs with three bolts you can adjust the hub with. Not mine. I need to pull one off for a leaking cam seal. Anyone familiar ...

Re: Oil consuption

I haven't seen any oil smoke under running conditions. I'm doing the timing belt and will do the flame trap at the same time. Maybe its clogged. I pulled the plugs and one plug has a slight build up of ash on it. However none are oil fouled or black. I will also try dye and see if that points me in ...

Cam seal replacement

Hey guys I’m looking for some help. 2013 S60 T5 engine type B5254T12. Changing out the timing belt, and have hit a snag.
The cam seal needs to be replaced on the intake. Every picture I’ve seen just has the two black plastic cam covers that you pry out to install the locking tool. This engine has ...

Re: Oil consuption

Not that I can notice. The tail pipes are soot stained though on the bottom. Just to double check I'm going to follow the car for a drive cycle.

Timing belt change

Hey everybody, hope you’re all well. I’ve done the timing belt service on a ’98 V70 and a ’06 S40 with the I5 engine. I’ve had a manual to refer to both times. Now I have an ‘13 S60 I5 to do. I can’t find any workbooks for reference. Is the tb change the same as the engines I’ve done before? Or is ...

Oil consuption

Hello to everyone. I recently bought a 2013 S60 T5. VIN YV161…. Engine # 4598538. Great car. The surprise is not only does it use gas, it uses 1qt of of oil per 600 miles. So far I’ve seen a couple of different explanations.
(a) Poor oil control ring design leading to a lack of tension to clean the ...

A/C compressor not engaging

It getting hot and my wife and kids say Fix the AC. I know there is a leak in my system. And it seems more than likly its the evaporator from what I read. I would like to try and do a leak test before I take 10+ hours pulling the dash out. However, at this point the clutch will not cycle on, to pull ...

Re: DIY: 1998 V70 Axle CV Rubber Boots Tips/Tricks

If you have the correct circleclip pliers ( they look like an L shape where they engage the clip) the clip disengages fairly easly. It still will take a few tries to get the joint off.

Re: Relay placement

The relay itself is marked with a J. It goes into socket 205 or 206.
