Wow a bit pricey, I paid 2600.00 for my 2000 v70xc and it had 147000, now has 180,000+ with no major work outside of normal wear issues and oil and fluid changes

Had the same noise on my 1998 v70 and my 2000 v70...took out the propeller shaft, goes from front of car to back to power the AWD....called Colorado driveshaft and they sent mt 2 remanufactured ones for 1140, they will pay return shipping, and return a core charge of 75.00 for each shaft...great guy ...

Please let me know what you found out, my landlord has the same problem, it's as if the catalytic converter is full of soot, any news would be greatly appreciated...his problem seems to have started after he had a mechanic put in aftermarket o2 sensors?????

Wow, I got lucky on my 850, I looked under the change holder and low and behold, there was an OBD II connection sitting right there and it works beautifully....them Volvo people sure don't waste any time!!!!!!!

Go the whole route, I've seen what a ripped timing belt will do, a guy gave me his 1999v70 after his went....it was to much for him to deal with...so it's worth the bit of extra time and money...for the piece of mind for sure!

DON'T GO OVERSIZE FOR SURE, GO THREADCERT IF YOU CAN...YOUR CHANCES OF A GOOD REPAIR ARE MUCH BETTER THAT WAY...GO OVERSIZE BOLT AND YOU WILL REGRET IT FOR SURE.
