Thanks!
It was the rheostat in my case, and I just cut both pairs of wires (1 and 4) and crimped them together (always have my dash lights on high anyway).
Works like a charm.

Re: 850, like it's out of gas, turning over with no start
Hey, Just wondering if you ever determined a source for your "like it's out of gas" problem? I have an 850 that has been doing the same thing off and on for a while now. Never does it when cold never when fully warm, only when i start from cold and drive less than a mile or so (quick run t...

Re: trans swap 98 S70 to 93 850
Would love to bring this topic back up. Anyone done it? What about the 5 speed auto into the 850?
Have been looking for ways to bring up the mpg, seems like this would help.

95 855T power door lock switch?
Hey all, was at the pull yard the other day and grabbed a dash switch to lock/unlock the doors from a 93? 850 GTL. Got home, popped the blanks off my dash but couldn't find a plug. Now of course i checked the owners manual to see what the available switches are and the lock/unlock switch is not list...

Re: 96 850 Turbo- Still having Idle problems, suggestions?
1. Check the vacuum line connection on the left of the intake manifold. 2. Check/test the EVAP system. On my 850, disconnected vacuum line at left side of the intake manifold caused rough idle and rough low end acceleration as well as the misfire codes. Also, broken lines on both sides of the fuel t...

Yes, that one collapses, but it's caused by the one between that hose and the intercooler collapsing first.

Yup, between throttle body and the intercooler.
Thanks, as usual you guys nail it.
Now how about the dying issue?

I'll check it out, thanks. But wouldn't the boost spike at least momentarily?

Re: A breathe of transmission fluid...
Possibly overfilled?
When I first got my 850 and took a few road trips there often was that strong odor of burning transmission fluid, especially after climbing a hill with my foot into the throttle. When checking the fluid afterwards it came up real high on the dipstick.
Just a thought.

95 850T full throttle, no boost
Ok, so the title is a bit misleading, full throttle from a stop or gradually increase throttle to full, no problem. However, imagine following a slow vehicle while going down a hill and coasting while waiting to pass, traffic clears, floor it, tranny downshifts and nothing happens, in fact I SLOW DO...
