Re: H&R Springs for 855t

My old Nivos still had some life left in them at 257.000km when I threw them out. Installed normal springs, seats and dampers just to find the car actually handled WORSE! Nivos are great dampers, but they too do age. If you get quality new dampers (i.e. Sachs Advantage, Koni FSD, Bilstein B6) the ha...

Re: Top Speed?

Volvo 850 T5 wagon with Wothrline ECU mod and TME exhaust - result was 258km/h (according to GPS) on 205/45/17 tires on Titan wheels. Maybe it could've gone even faster, but I didn't have enough free Autobahn to try. Car was fully loaded though, passenger and all the stuff for a camping trip. The eu...

Re: H&R Springs for 855t

H&R has 2 spring sets for wagons, one is for Nivomats, the other for normal dampers.
So make sure you get the right ones depending on the shock absorbers actually installed in your car.

Re: cutting ipd blues

Do NOT cut off any coils from the springs! Please, don't do it, you are actively endangering your life! The reason why some of the upper coils are sitting on top of each other "en block" is that they are there to expand when the wheel hits a pothole or a part of the road that's lower than ...

Re: IPD ecu update

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: If you think that just a chip/modded EDU will get you anything more than 270hp, you are fooling yourself. In fact, for reaching more than 270hp you will absolutely need a modified exhaust because the stock one is too restrictive and will lead to uncomforta...

Re: Mobil1 oil - recommendation from mobil.com

Try oeldepot24.de - they accept Paypal and as far as I know also ship abroad. Depending on the amount you order it could be cheaper than going to the local shops. Liqui Moly doesn't seem to clean the motor as much as Mobil1 does, they have a different mix of detergents in the oil. When I change the ...

Re: Mobil1 oil - recommendation from mobil.com

Note that only the 0W40 (nowadays branded as "new life") and the 5W50 bear the "Mobil 1" brand name, the others are just "Mobil" without the "1". I currently run the 5W40 from them in my T5 since it was cheap to come by (4€/litre), but will change back to 0W40...

Re: coolant leak, rear passenger floor carpet is wet with co

If its a wagon, check behind the D pillar and the floorboard in the rear on the passenger side (clips out when pulled upwards). There should be a valve there for the rear windscreen washer, if that gets disconnected, the liquid flows to the rear seats. If your coolant level doesn't drop and it's sti...

Re: IPD Sway bars

Besides, they just look and feel mean :D I already had the big factory sway bars installed as my car is a T5, but these sure took it to another level. About the wheel thing: This debate is probably as old as fwd (or "french wheel drive" as TopGear UK calls it), some say you want more threa...

Re: Marvel Mystery Oil question

just add normal motor oil, it also contains cleaning additives. You can mix&match any oil, mineral and synthetic, 0W40 and 15W40 and so on. Just remember, that if you add lower grade oil, you won't get the benefits of the rest of the higher grade stuff still in your system. In the end, get some ...
