It IS possible to change out the sway bar without dropping the subframe
...if you move some other stuff out of the way too. I was doing a bit of a suspension overhaul this week and one of the items I was changing out was the stock sway bar for the ipd style. I was prepared to drop the subframe but since I was changing out some other stuff I thought I'd try something. Wi...

Re: Taking apart inner CV joint - I thought it was easy?
Good advice. Thanks.
So there is a wire ring that goes around the edge that holds the tripod bearings in the socket. I wasn't looking for it because none of the write ups I've read mention it. It is easily removed with a o-ring pick.

Taking apart inner CV joint - I thought it was easy?
96 850 R. Replacing cv boots. I watched Roberts video on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gonWl9mJd_Y At about the 13 minute mark he shows the inner cv joint tripod just pulls out and then there is a snap ring to take it off. Well my tripod is not just pulling out. It slides almost out but the ed...

Inner Tie Rods - are new ones supposed to be this tight?
I just got some new inner tie rods from FCP. They are the Lemforder brand. I can't move the ball joint on these at all by hand even using some vise grips. Now, obviously the car's steering will put more force on them but still I was just wondering if the joint is supposed to be this tight out of the...

I'm sure you're right. I just happen to have a s60 in my local salvage yard and thought it would be a simpler approach. If I'm working on something unfamiliar I always try it on a salvage car before my own if I can.

Re: Replaced evapoator. AC line blew apart.
I didn't use a tool to reconnect the line. I don't understand why you would need to. I guess I can try it.
It felt like it clicked into place when I put it on and it held high pressure for 2 days. If the spring wasn't in position I wouldn't imagine it could hold any pressure.

Replaced evapoator. AC line blew apart.
I recently replaced my evaporator myself. That's a tough job. Just had a shop recharge the system the other day. It was working fine for a few days. Today one of the quick connect lines at the fire wall blew apart. I am at a loss here. Any advice would be appreciated.

What cv axles can be used on an 850?
My CV boots are split. I was thinking about replacing the axle as a unit. Anybody know if a used cv axle from a s60 would work?

Re: Changed dash, now radio is blowing fuses
I ended up replacing the amp and wiring together with that off my other 850 and it fixed the problem.
The wiring seamed to be intact. I'm still not sure where the problem was.
