2006 XC70 Vs 2004 XC70 collision......
So much for all of the work I'd put into my '06 over the past few weeks. On a main secondary road yesterday afternoon, 2 lanes in each direction, going with the traffic flow, maybe 30-35mph. 200yds ahead I see another XC70 stopped on a side road on the right waiting to pull into traffic. I'm in the ...

Re: 2006 XC70 Bad gas or start ordering parts PO30X codes
Update: Took advantage of NAPA's bucket sale (20% off everything that you can fit in the bucket) and got the Eichlen ignition coils for $46 apiece, saved $79 bucks off my entire order. Drizzly yucky day here in CT and I have no garage, so I set up my pop up canopy, took my time and replaced all of t...

2006 XC70 Bad gas or start ordering parts PO30X codes
Shortly after putting gas in the car the other day, it started throwing codes along with a flashing CEL and sometimes it will stay on. Initial codes were PO442 which is usually the gas cap not tight, PO300 random multiple cylinder misfires, and PO303 cylinder 3 misfire. I put some fuel treatment in ...

Re: 2006 XC70 Front Axle repacement questions
Parts delays and the weather have gotten in the way of me attempting this project, but I think it was in vain (will discuss at the end of the post) Since is seemed the more complicated of the two sides, I did the passenger side axle first. I removed the strut and disconnected the tie rod and after u...

2006 XC70 no heat
Good morning, The frigid weather here in the northeast is not helping, but my heater isn't working. The temperature gauge on the dash is centered (12 o'clock) once the car warms up, antifreeze level is spec, the heater hoses going into the firewall are HOT. So I don't THINK it's the thermostat. If I...

2006 XC70 Front Axle repacement questions
Good morning all, After I clear the 8" of snow that we got dumped with last night, I hope to replace my driver's side axle. I've read the threads that I could find here, and videos on youtube, and it almost appears (except for the fella who broke off the axle in the tranny) that most of the wor...

1991 740 exhaust replacement
I thought I'd bring my post from this morning over to a new post specific to what I'm working on. I'm in the process of trying to get this car road ready for my daughter and the exhaust is shot, but I haven't had much opportunity to do much with the car. I got it home finally a few weeks ago and it'...

Re: This 740 beat me today
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I haven't had much opportunity to do much with the car. I got it home finally a few weeks ago and it's pretty much sat until yesterday when I began to tackle the exhaust.....all I can say is that in 100 plus years of the auto industry, you'd think they'd come u...

Re: 740 is to hot any ideas why
Never hurts to flush the radiator and put in a new thermostat. New radiator is only $115 at Napa too. Now I know what the sensor that I forgot to swap out yesterday does.

Re: This 740 beat me today
Well, good news. Napa had the radiator for only $115 and the hoses and the changeout went quickly, except that after I got the system up to temperature I realized that I forgot to remove the temperature sensor from the old radiator. Hope the gasket on the plug works with sensor. I'll worry about tha...
