Re: 1996 850 GLT Engine side oxygen 02 sensor wires
Thank you. On the connectors, I tried them one more time and rotated them more than just 90 degrees after each try. Turns out they all snapped in one by one. Not sure how they came out to begin with. And thank you so much for the mapping. Everything is back together. I just need to clear the codes a...

1996 850 GLT Engine side oxygen 02 sensor wires
Twice now the leads from the car to where the front 02 sensor plugs in at the engine have come out (red circle in picture). All four leads look good. I reinserted them once and now they are out again. And the car is throwing P0130 and P0135 codes. I bought a new front 02 sensor to replace (it's 75k ...

Re: 1996 850 GLT Code P0304
Did you use Volvo plugs? Run a compression test or just do a full plugs, wires (Bougicord) Cap and rotor (Bosch). And ONLY Volvo plugs. I finally worked on the car today. The old plugs were Bosch Platinum. Even though they were 1 year/7k miles old, I replaced them with Volvo plugs along with a new ...

That was a really helpful video. Looks like a series of tests I can do at home. Thanks for posting it.

Re: 1996 850 GLT Code P0304
rmmagow - I need to pull a plug to see what I used. I currently have Bougicord wires on and a Bosch rotor. Can't tell how old and am looking through my records to see if I missed recording any replacements on my master service history list. For a compression test, I assume that requires special equi...

1996 850 GLT Code P0304
The check engine light came on today. Local parts store checked the code and it is P0304. Internet research says a misfire. I replaced the plugs one year ago, I believe with Volvo plugs (need to check as I didn't write it down). Does 0304 mean cylinder #4? (My insinuation from reading other posts.) ...

Re: 1996 850 GLT Fuel Filter Connector - RESOLVED
Thank you to cn90 and others for reinforcing the splice solution. I pushed on my mechanic and all of a sudden yesterday I had a spliced piece of fuel line in the car. I am going to look at the setup as it is fuel line and some hose clamps. If I can post a picture I will and perhaps folks can let me ...

Re: 1996 850 GLT Fuel Filter Connector
Update: turns out my self-repair $25 fuel filter and what should have been 30 minutes of labor has now turned into a full-on replacement of the fuel hose which is on national backorder at about $190 and a couple hours of labor to install by my mechanic. Both my mechanic and a favorite online Volvo p...

Re: 1996 850 GLT Fuel Filter Connector
erikv11 - I tried to cut off a bit of hose but it is steel wrapped in rubber. I am sure there is a tool that can make a quick cut but I don't think I own it. I'll have to eyeball it and explain what I have at the parts store.
