Re: Financial Distress Parts Program
I have a small box of leftover new parts for a 2001 S60 T5 from when I was chasing a check engine light. Hoses from the tank to the purge canister, purge valve, etc. Is it possible to send you the parts?

Re: Timing Marks Off
You shouldn't have to move the hub if all you did was loosen the three bolts on the cam gear. It looks like you're only off 1 or two teeth.

Re: Timing Marks Off
You can get someone to hold the exhaust cam marks straight across with a large screw driver or a drag link socket while you rotate the center of the vvt hub clockwise. I think its a t50 torx to turn the hub.

Re: Timing Marks Off
The vet hub is spring loaded. That's why you have to lock the camshaft then turn the center of the hub to tighten the spring then put your timing belt on. I think it's 18 teeth on the belt between the timing marks.

Give it a small amount of oil in the cylinder and see if the compression comes up. If it does you likely have a burnt valve.

Re: Xc70 axle shaft spline stuck in transmission
take a block of wood and a hammer and drive it in then pry it out with two large screw drivers. Driving it in unseats the clip that's on the spline. Doubt you broke anything you just pulled the cv joint apart

Re: 07 S60 Total engine failure?
Oil pan doesn"t have a gasket. It just uses silicone. I would replace the rear main seal while your in there. The timing belt should be ok at 55k miles

Re: 07 S60 Total engine failure?
You can get to the torque converter bolts through the starter hole. I made a lifting eye for the passenger side (piece of angle iron ) that makes the engine hang a lot straighter.
