Re: 1998 V70 AWD P0455 P0440 P0442 Fix with Photos
Mine is a 1998 V70 FWD base model. When I open the rear access panel that was covered by the wire harness, I see only a metal can that cannot be removed. 20210819_132453.jpg It just spins. Under the other panel there is a cap of some sort with three hose connectors, one of which has nothing connecte...

Re: P0455 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (gro
Ok, I took off the plastic liner, looked around the charcoal canister and voila! the hose going to the AIR nipple is rotted. Clearly I do not want to replace the entire hose so is there a specific type of rubber that I need to splice in? Since this is the vent, I should not have to worry about fuel ...

There are 5 (or so, not looking at it at the moment) pins on that relay, which two do I jumper?

Re: 98 V70 awd cruise control not working
Brake switch, check. Accelerator linkage arm, check. Vacuum hose near battery, sliced! I reconnected the ends using a piece of windshield washer hose. Cruise control, works! Wish I had known about this 7+ years ago when it quit

Re: Do it yourself ABS module repair.
My first repair lasted 6 years. Instead of doing it again, I sent it to mattymoo (www.midwest-abs.com). Excellent decision!

I got P0442 the other day, reset it and am waiting to see if it comes back (I have been getting the dreaded P0133 for years...). I presume the work in the rear is similar for a non-AWD. In the meantime, the "Purge valve is located underneath the air duct" picture gives me the creeps: a lon...

Re: Do it yourself ABS module repair.
As soon as I hit send, I figured I'd go at it again, popped the retainers and successfully opened the box. I've reheated all the joints. I'm not too confident that it will work because of one tiny glitch while opening the box. The surface mount resistor farthest from the power pins was loose and I s...

Re: Do it yourself ABS module repair.
Hi Lee,
How did you ever get the ABS module box to open? Do I have to somehow remove the bolt sleeves? If so, how do I manage that? I took off one of the fasteners but that did not help. I get stuck at every one of the four bolt holes.
Thanks,
Paul
