Before anything i would check for snow or mud stock on the inner side of the wheels.

i just finish doing a installing a tranny on a 01 s40 and i just can figure out where that hose goes to

Yea it looks like bad struts

Can you get a scanner and see the o2 sensor reading maybe if its bad and just read rich the computer will take fuel away from the combustion and run hot

I believe that if there is a vacuum leak the engine will run lean and the combustion will be hotter too
